okay i know the point of contrasting glinda walking down the aisle to elphaba walking through the cages of Animals was probably a "lies in the light truth in the darkness" thing but there's a read of that choice that implies that, deep down, glinda finds heterosexual marriage as horrifying as elphaba finds Animals in cages, and that's just very, very funny

CP: And I feel like that just like shows the strain that was on our relationship that we had to like flip switch and we were like professional. And then it was like, oh, here's the space for us. And like going back and forth that some of our best friends at the time didn't even know us like truly as a couple. They just knew us as, like, Dumb and Dumber that went everywhere together but never kissed and never held hands. It was just like two pals palling around.
