Lame Ass Cosplay Blogs

This blog exists to call out and round up all of those terrible blogs that are run by people who have decided to fill up their time with shaming people through reblogging their cosplays because they dislike them. They may not care that they're posted here but the first step to standing up to any form of bullying is to call it out and so that's what I'll do. I will keep an eye out for any of these blogs whenever I can if you know of one please let me know through I will post them onto this blog.

seems like a fairly new one here, exclusively targeting cosplay, even picks at people doing simply facepaint tests or showing horns. 

So this blog runner is either that sad they have to pick at simple tests, or they just can't tell what is actually cosplay because they're incompetent, most likely a combination of both.

This needs to stop. Like, seriously. I am so disgusted right now I don’t even know where to start. It’s people like this that just butcher the fun out of cosplaying. There are probably hundreds of “bad cosplay” blogs out there and I just don’t understand why people do this kind of shit. I scrolled through their posts of lovely cosplayers whose main objective was to have fun with something they enjoyed. It just hurt me seeing photos of cosplayers smiling and being in character and then this blog from the pit of hell brings it on here and insults them. 

Let me make something clear: This is cyberbullying. I don’t want to hear anyone say “No, it’s criticism!” because that’s bullshit. This is not the kind of criticism cosplayers are supposed to get. Haven’t you ever heard of constructive criticism? This is not anywhere near that. This is bullying. You’re not helping the cosplayer at all. Don’t try to say “It will help them improve.” Um, no. The only thing it will help them do is make them feel like shit. 

I know we can’t end this permanently, because it’s the internet, and some people just don’t care. But what you can do is find the most active “bad cosplay” blogs and report them to the tumblr staff. Make this shit aware. And this doesn’t just happen on tumblr. It happens on other sites like 4chan, reddit, Facebook… everywhere! Even IN REAL LIFE. You know how many people I’ve seen at conventions make fun of other cosplayers like we’re back in middle school? If you’re a con-goer, and you see that shit happening, confront them! Also, giving nice compliments at a convention, no matter how small it is, can really make someone’s day. Seriously, just saying something like “I love your makeup!” “I love that dress!” “Your cosplay is amazing!” can really make someone’s day. You never know if they’re starting out or if they’ve been doing it for a long time. Either way, it makes them feel good. And it motivates them to keep moving forward in such a fun hobby. 

Cosplay is for fun and good memories, not to insult. Let’s keep it that way.

All of my followers should reblog this because this needs to stop. No one makes blogs about making fun of extreme sports fans that dress up for their teams or anything like that. Quit targeting people who are just trying to have fun and are passionate about the things they love.

Posts cosplays of all kinds, doesn't appear to be too active but it's had a post at least four days ago which was fat shaming a lara croft cosplayer.

whoever runs this clearly seems to judge cosplayers on body type, shaming bigger cosplayers despite the actual quality of their cosplay.

Not much else to say, otherwise it's just like the rest.

Mocks various cosplays and art created by homestuck fans, claims anyone who has a problem with them is "ignorant" in an attempt to deter people from speaking out against them (a lot of these blogs do similar things to try to scare people into not speaking up). 

They also post their art unsourced which is pretty shitty right there and claim they're protecting artists by not giving out information. Clearly this blog doesn't know you can grab a picture and do a search which pretty much always finds you the source therefore defeating the purpose of not sourcing the art.

Posts cosplays of anything to their blog and mocks the majority of them (some are posted without comment though given the blog title pretty much anything posted on there is being insulted).

Heavily fluctuates between playing the nice advisory people and being mockful bullies. Why not just offer advice to people who want it? It ain't hard.

This blog doesn't shame cosplay as far as I know and in actuality, this blog has done a decent job of outing art theft. I'm not one to take away credit where its due even from blogs like this.

However, its ruined by the amount of times they mock and insult people's art and OCs with little to no criticism and in the end it's just another one of these lame ass blogs perpetrating bullying.  

Seriously, if you wanna crit OCs or art or cosplay, make a blog where people submit to you rather than pointless mockery.

Blog: bad-danganronpa

So for the first blog, here's a bad dagan ronpa blog. The main reason I started this blog was because of the recent dagan ronpa drama which was caused by baddanganronpacosplay. That blog has been deleted which is a really great victory for those of us tired of this crap.

This blog however, remains and its the same except for a few details.This blog does not even offer criticism if you ask for it. Literally the only thing I could credit the other blog for was if you really wanted to, you could submit cosplay for critique. That's what the blog should have been in the first place without all the bullying.

This blog offers non of that, its just pure being a dick for the sake of it and because as the lovely person behind the ask says multiple times "does not give a fuck" (the blog is apparently run by two people, one who posts submits and the other who answers the asks). I can only pity these people sometimes, I really do ask what goes wrong in their lives that this is the crap they resort to doing in their spare time.

This blog isn't just shaming cosplay either, anything DR is up for grabs including artwork and OCs. So not only are we making feel shit for their apperance and cosplay skill, we're also making them feel like shit for their art and writing. This is All while offering zero constructive criticism to any of it which means congratulations to the people over at bad-danganronpa, your douche levels are off the charts! Welcome to the prestiege of being a lame ass cosplay blog!

Hilariously, this blog addressed the closing of the other blog with some advice to other bad blogs on how not to end up deleted. God forbid if more of these blogs went into the void of deletion where they belonged right?
