whatever you’re going through does not mean that your are malfunctioning or broken - you’re not a freak, you’re not a failure, you’re human, and a wonderful human at that
so anyway it’s very clear that tumblr has an issue when it comes to favouritism over male muses. it’s not unknown that female muses tend to be forgotten about or shafted in favour of males, and that’s always stemmed from how much the roleplaying community loves to indulge itself in its male / male ships, and usually to a degree of fetishism, might i add. female muses have often been seen and treated as irrelevant, unnecessary, and merely an inconvenience that get in the way of male ships.
and not to mention that male angst.
it’s really good to see the awareness spreading within the community these days. it’s good to see people advocating the importance of female muses and offering their support. as someone who has more often than not written female characters, it does make me personally happy to see. especially when it is done without degrading or putting down those who do write and enjoy writing male muses.
however, all that support can fall flat if you do not actively engage in female muses. support is great. advocating for more female muse visibility is great. fighting for their right to exist within the fandom is great. but your words will come off as hollow and empty if you do not similarly engage with those who do write for female characters also. i’ve seen it within fandoms. i’ve seen female muses who pass off other female muses in favour of males. if you do this, you are part of the problem. you cannot push for your own character’s visibility as a female oc while actively ignoring other female ocs.

"june...? what do the stars look like?"
/ @lanalinghest ❤❤
as much as the question was unsurprising to hear as they lay out beneath the stained glass windows of the temple domed roof, it was not a simple one for the craftsmen. imaginative he might be, but in a technical sense for his various inventions. thus, how can one describe balls of gas that glow even when perhaps lifeless within their own world? instead, thumbs rotated slowly as his hands were clasped over his chest, eyes merely taking in the endless dark blanket of shining stars above them. a quiet hum with pressed lips was his only indication that he had heard her and he was merely busy thinking of the perfect answer just for her.
to see without eyes, tricky, but not impossible.
“ — stars… stars look like when you hand accidentally goes over the fire, feeling the heat lick your fingers before you pull back with a shock to your nerves. in the same sense, they glow. brightly so, without any cease to their endeavours. warm… a comfort. stars will always be here long after this world goes through its own cycle of life and death – shining like small fires in the sky. they are the only true immortal thing that we know of, really; not even we can outlive them. thus, perhaps think of the most beautiful thing you can think of… they are the stars that watch over you at night, acting as your guide when no one else is there beside you to do so. they are the stars that look down at us even now.” there was a pause as he smiled lightly to himself. “ — talking about them as if they cannot hear us.”
another pause, but it was not idle this time. June simply took out his little crystal creation and began to shape it into a ball with just a couple rotations of his hands. when finished, he gingerly took her hand within his own and set the ball upon her palm. cold at first, but with a soft snap of his fingers, it began to glow with a comfortable warmth radiating forth from its chamber.
“hold this tightly,” he murmured quietly, watching her features change with the temperature. “this is what a star looks like, Ghilly.”
