@land000: is this the kicky ball one
As Lando reassured him that none of this was a bad idea, Théo nodded in hopeless approval, a non-committal sound spilling from his lips and into the other boy’s open mouth. He wanted so desperately to believe him, but he still found himself weighed down with the guilt of how much this would hurt Keleey. He should have been honest with her months ago, should have told her that things weren’t working. He’d spent so long rejecting her advances, satiating her with gentle kisses and a shaky hand to the curve of her hip, hoping she’d see it as him being respectful and not outright rejecting her.
Now, hearing Lando insist that it was the best idea, Théo wondered if maybe he’d only been kidding himself this entire time. Could it have been this simple all along? Had he ended things with Keeley weeks, even months ago, would he have had everything he wanted by now? He’d still be living in secret to avoid his father’s rage, but maybe he could have been calling Lando his boyfriend by now. If he’d just been brave enough to go after what he wanted, all of it could have been his and he could have avoided hurting Keeley long ago. The thought ignited a spark of hope in his chest as he realised this might be it, he might finally be able to break things off with Keeley and tell her the truth that she was owed, and still get everything he wanted.
Théo released a nervous giggle as he allowed Lando to guide him across the room, his hands flitting to the other boy’s waist as he stared up in surprise, his butt abruptly hitting the cushions of the sofa. Even during his makeout sessions with Keeley, she’d never straddled him like this, and his expression was far from neutral now. He was slack-jawed, his sparkling blue eyes wide with a combination of lust and surprise, and his heart was beating overtime in his chest. He wondered if Lando could feel just how hard he’d grown from just the two of them kissing, his erection seeming thicker and more pronounced as he felt the weight of his best friend pressed against his lap. All Théo could do was shudder under the weight of him, a desperate moan building in his throat as Lando kissed him slowly now, Théo relishing in the taste of him.
“You taste so sweet,” Théo muttered stupidly, feeling a blush rise to his cheeks. His mind flashed back to the Cherry Coke that Lando had chugged after the two of them had demolished a pizza, but he knew it wasn’t that. It was something far more feral than corn syrup and caffeine.
His hand glided down and along Lando’s waist towards his hip, before shakily settling on his upper thigh. It felt like a bold move from Théo, but it seemed there were very few lines Lando was willing to cross at this stage. Groping his thigh seemed very much above board. At the other man’s words, Théo’s hand stilled momentarily, a low groan escaping him as he tried to make sense of them. Was Lando taunting him? Was he trying to remind Théo of his girlfriend now, in this moment, as some kind of sick and twisted power play? Théo had always known that Lando didn’t like Keeley very much – he'd scolded him plenty over the way he called her names and made jokes at her expense – but he didn’t ever want to believe that Lando would use him just to piss her off.
He wouldn’t, would he?
“I’ve never felt this way about anyone ever,” Théo landed on, pulling back from the kiss. Experimentally, he dipped his head low and let his tongue dart out, licking a stripe along Lando’s throat, a soft, appreciative hum escaping him. Okay, yep. He was definitely hard as a rock now, his boner no doubt digging into the other boy’s thigh.
“You’re everything to me,” he breathed.
Lando knew he wasn’t imagining the feeling of Théo’s dick hardening up and pressing against the butt of his jeans. All he wanted to do was draw attention to it, see if he could push his luck and maybe convince Théo to let him unbutton the other boy’s jeans and pull it out so Lando could see it. But he forced himself to showcase a completely uncharacteristic display of patience. This was all so new. He didn’t want to move too fast and spook Théo.
Not when he finally had his best friend right where he wanted him.
Naturally, Lando’s own dick was stiff and standing to attention, pressing against the zipper of his jeans which only gave him like, one-billionth of the friction he actually needed.
But patience. Patience! He was being so fucking patient right now. They were going to have to give him a medal or something for this. Lando Knight: showed a great deal of bravery and willpower in the face of great horniness.
He whined in protest when Théo pulled his mouth away from Lando’s, heart flipping at the thin string of saliva still connecting them. He didn’t want it to snap but when it inevitably did, Lando’s tongue darted out to gather what spit he could from his bottom lip. His stomach fizzed when he realised he couldn’t tell what was Théo’s and what was his.
“Wait, really?” He stared at Théo, his face open and shocked. Surely he had had like crushes before. On other guys that probably had their shit together more than Lando did. Maybe he only felt this way because this was the first time that things had ever gotten physical with someone else, but downplaying the other boy’s words only lasted for so long when Théo gripped Lando’s thigh and licked a stripe up his neck.
Immediately, Lando groaned, thighs tightening automatically around Théo’s hips.
“Shit, where the fuck did you learn that?” he panted. He quickly regretted asking. If Théo mentioned Keeley right now, Lando was certain he’d kill himself.
Just as he was about to hurriedly tell his friend not to answer that question, Théo did the impossible and rendered Lando Knight completely speechless.
You’re everything to me.
He stared down at Théo, lips parted, eyes blown wide.
“What?” he breathed.
Lando had gone his whole life never being enough for anyone, forget being everything to them. He immediately surged forward, his hand cradling the back of Théo’s head as he kissed him again.
With his other hand, he closed it around Théo's, guiding it across the denim of his jeans to the bulge between his legs.
“That’s what you do to me.”
He stopped abruptly, rearing his head back and blinking stupidly. He let the words echo in the space between them and immediately groaned. With a giggle, he leaned forward and pressed his face into the side of Théo’s neck.
“Aw, shit. Sorry. You just said something really sweet so I was trying to say something poetic back but I just sounded dumb and horny instead.”
His hands flapped uselessly in the air.
“I mean like, you make me feel things, dude. Including that.”

Mary-Kate pressed her lips together, squirrelling away a smile. Matching war wounds. She liked that. It reminded her of being a little kid in the playground, nicking the inside of her palm with a knife so that she could swap blood with whoever was her best friend that week, pressing dirt and smarties into the open wound for some godforsaken reason - a preteen girl ritual that had made perfect sense at the time. She'd been a weird kid. Heck, she was a weird adult.
"I'll remember that when I'm bleeding internally." she teased, rolling her eyes a little.
She arched a perfectly plucked eyebrow at him. For someone who resembled a bloody pulp, Lando sure didn't want to go to the ER. She figured he should know the ins and outs of every hospital in New York by now. Until she remembered, she might have the benefits of her parent's health insurance, but not everybody was so lucky. Guilt pricked at her chest. Although, if she didn't have health insurance, she would probably be a lot less reckless with her body. But hey, his body, his choice. That was applicable here, right?
"Oh, shit. I'm sorry." she winced, bringing her fingers up to her mouth to gnaw at the red and broken skin around her nails. Ugly habit, her Mom would say. But hey, at least it was the only ugly thing about her! "I sure would've thought you'd have a special someone, skater boy."
At his request, Mary-Kate threw herself over the side of the games counter - forgetting entirely about her new bruise, and wincing - and began feeling in the cubby holes for the tell-tale shape of the First Aid Kit. She couldn't remember the last time someone had filled it up, but it wasn't often there was an ailment in the games circuit past some kid throwing up after coming straight from the bumper carts, so she figured she'd be alright.
"Got it!" she exclaimed, swinging her legs til they found the ground again. As she straightened up, she cast a warning glance in Lando's direction. "Fine. Just don't bleed on the giant ass panda, please."
Setting the first aid kit on the side, she popped the lid and began rifling through it for the things Lando had described, hopeful he wasn't as terrible a nurse as he was a fighter.
"It's cool what you did... for that kid, I mean." she said, putting an entire roll of gauze in his lap. "Thanks for that. I wouldn't have known what to like, do."
She planted her butt on the spinny chair next to Lando's, and continued, "I mean, you suck. Don't get me wrong. You should definitely not get into any more fights. But like, thanks."
Lando turned his head, making sure he didn’t bleed all over the plushie. Having his DNA splattered across the fairground's most coveted prize probably dragged its appeal down just a little. But there was likely some kid out there who’d pitch a fit about winning the giant panda, bloody or not. He would know. He’d been that kid once.
The panda’s tummy provided a pillowy relief for his throbbing headache and he closed his eyes, shutting out the irritating flash of the technicolor lights buzzing around him. Unfortunately, he couldn’t plug his ears to block out the repetitive, tinkling music clanging its way out of the tinny speaker, occasionally punctuated by a robotic, old-timey voice demanding that people step right up. Damn, Mary-Kate had to deal with this every day? He was surprised she hadn’t tried to hit someone else sooner.
At her triumphant cry, he let out a soft groan and blinked his eyes open. Bracing his hands against the counter, he pushed himself back up to sitting, the spinny chair underneath him not helping his dizziness.
His hand gripped the gauze she dropped in his lap so it didn’t roll off. At least there’d be enough for him to mummify himself once and then again if those guys came back and decided to start on him for a second time.
“Huh?” he asked stupidly, screwing his face up when the lightbulbs above them adopted a repetitive pattern of flashing on and off and then zipping around their circuit one after the other, illuminating themselves as they went. Man, Lando didn’t think he could ever work in a theme park.
“What I… Aw, it’s nothing,” he said, as if ‘nothing’ usually looked like a bloody nose and a busted lip. He picked at the tape holding the gauze together with his thumbnail and began unravelling it.
“He was just a kid and those guys were assholes.”
A surprised laugh burbled out of him when she critiqued his fighting skills though. He shook his head, then quickly remembered how dizzy he felt right now.
“Hey! There was one of me and like… forty five of them,” he groused, leaning into Mary-Kate’s personal space when he spotted the anti-septic spray tucked away in the first aid kit. He quickly grabbed it. “I mean if it had been one on one - oh shit, don’t let me bleed on you - if it had been one on one, I would’ve totally held my own.”
He gave her a lopsided grin.
“Thanks for being my back-up though.”
He pushed back his overgrown bangs, wrinkling his nose when he realised they were sticky with blood. He knew he had a cut somewhere on his forehead slash temple area and clumsily prodded at it with his fingers, hissing when he found the affected wound. It still wasn’t the best way to assess the damage though.
“Can I use your phone camera?” he asked her. “Like, so I can see what I’m doing?”

Taking one look at Lando, her first thought was that this man was, as her dear old Dad would say, for the birds. She'd heard him say it a handful of times, watching someone crash out on reality television or when someone made a bad pass during a sports game. She didn't really know what it meant. It felt different than saying someone was worm food or put out to pasture, but the sentiment felt the same. Basically, this motherfucker was totally fucked.
"Hi." she said, dropping her tone to something a little softer. She could sometimes be self-aware, and she was doing that loud, nasal thing Mikey complained about right now. Which probably wasn't conducive to a potential concussion.
As he looked at her, bleary eyed and utterly confused, his face screwing up in such a way that Mary-Kate couldn't tell whether he was in pain or utterly befuddled. She was wondering if it was time to whisk him into the somewhat-loving arms of the American healthcare system, or shine a light in his eyes or something. No one at the park had the first aid training to deal with whatever this was.
"Sorry, dude." she mumbled, releasing her grasp on the bloody pulp that was his head. Instead, she stayed at eye level with Lando, trying her best to stay perfectly still despite the jittery energy coursing through her, hands on her knees.
"Oh!" she exclaimed, eyebrows shooting up in surprise. She felt a mixture of surprised and flattered, the corners of her mouth quirking up. She guessed her eyes were pretty big, but hadn't thought of 'em much past that. Blue was kinda boring. "Thanks, man."
She tried to move back a little to give him some space - whilst also being in catching distance should he take a tumble.
"Yeah, I don't know the answer, anyway." she said, shrugging.
It wasn't until he mentioned the kick she'd recieved that she suddenly felt something begin to smart. A dull ache somewhere around her ribcage, her own brows furrowing to mirror Lando's. His whole face was ruined, his hoodie a total mess. In comparison, she'd gotten off pretty easy.
Lando's hand still clutching her hip, Mary-Kate looked down, tugging at the hem of her t-shirt to expose her stomach, twisting this way and that to look at the skin there. It was pretty red - but no broken skin. She prodded just below her ribcage, letting out a little hiss.
"That's gonna leave a gnarly bruise, I think. But I'll live."
Dropping her shirt, he turned the full force of her attention back on Lando.
"Should we get you to the ER, or something?" she asked. "I could come with you, if you want. Or like, we could call someone. Mom, Dad, boyfriend, girlfriend..."
When Mary-Kate thanked him, he waved his hand as if to say, ah, it’s nothing. Which at that moment it was. He wasn’t really in a fit state to be flirting right now, and he doubted guys with bloody noses and a swollen-shut eye was what did it for girls like Mary-Kate. He thought he’d seen her boyfriend hanging around the stall some days. A petty-boy band type who’d probably never even had a papercut.
He blinked a few times, trying the best he could to refocus his vision. He hissed in sympathy as he peered at the angry red mark stretching across Mary-Kate’s ribcage. He’d been in enough skateboarding accidents to know that was going to bruise like a peach tomorrow.
“We’ll have matching war wounds,” he told her, as if that was any consolation. He looked up at her through his bangs, bruised eye squinting shut as he gave her a small smile.
“Least we’ve been in the trenches together!”
As soon as Mary-Kate mentioned the ER, he swung his head back and forth way, way too enthusiastically. Definitely enough to make him woozy again, and he had no idea if the spinny chair underneath him was moving again, or if it was just him. Swallowing back against the rising wave of nausea swelling in his stomach, he gritted his teeth and, this time, shook his head much slower.
“No… Jeeze. Definitely not,” he said firmly. “I don’t have the health insurance for that shit and…” He winced a little, a weird pang in his chest when she listed any potential relatives or partners that might want to come pick him up. “I don’t have any of the above neither.”
He thought of Alex, his sister, who would definitely want to know that he’d gotten himself in another scrape. She’d been the one to clean him up as a kid when he’d been a daredevil tearaway, skating in front of cars and throwing himself out of trees. Unfortunately for Alex, Lando really didn’t want anybody contacting her to let her know about this. For one, she didn’t need the extra worry and, more importantly, he couldn’t stand the thought of fucking Chad being there to roll his eyes and make a sarky little comment.
“Honestly, if you’ve got a first aid kit or something round here I can definitely patch myself up,” he told Mary-Kate. “This isn’t my first time getting my bahookey kicked. So if you have like… band-aids and the spray shit, I can fix myself up. Meanwhile, I’m just gonna…”
Clumsily, he reached out to grab at the most sought-out artefact of the modern fairground.
“Can I use him as a cushion?” he asked, tugging the giant panda plushie towards him.

Kissing Lando was a lot different to kissing Keeley. Théo knew he shouldn’t be thinking that, or even thinking about Keeley right now – or maybe he should be thinking about Keeley, and how wrong this whole situation was – but he didn’t have anything else to compare the kiss to. Keeley’s lips were pretty and soft, and she liked to hold his chin in way that made him feel both delicate and protected. She didn’t seem to mind that he was all soft edges and warm blushes, nowhere close to what his father believed the image of a man should be. But their kisses always felt mechanical, as though Théo was silently trying to remind himself what to do and when, where to place his hand and all the correct sounds he should be making to bring out Keeley’s best smiles. His favourite smiles of hers usually shone the brightest after he gave her a kiss or a cuddle, or surprised her with a treat, and it made his heart ache something horrendous.
But right now, Lando was pulling him back in for another, deeper kiss, and this felt like nothing Théo had ever experienced before. The other boy’s fingers were twisting in his hair, tugging his golden locks in a way that made his head spin, heat unfurling in the pit of his stomach as he needily leaned in for more. Lando’s other hand seemed to frame his jaw perfectly, much the same way Keeley’s often did, only this time there were sharp, thrilling jolts of electricity coursing through his skin with each tender touch. Suddenly, Théo felt as though he was entirely unexperienced, as though this were his first ever kiss and he desperately needed to explore the other boy’s mouth to gain a better understanding of it.
“Oh... Oh, hell,” Théo murmured pathetically.
The sound that left Lando seemed to unlock something within the young blond, and his own throat constricted tightly around an almost identical moan as his hands dropped to the other boy’s hips. The two of them were gripping each other tight, pulling each other closer in some frantic, eager attempt as Théo finally, loudly released a gasp that tore from his lips, buried deep in his chest and reverberating through his entire body into a guttural moan. He wasn’t sure he’d ever made a sound quite like it in all his life, but he could feel the effects of it right down to the space between his thighs, heavy and warm as his tongue darted out, desperate and hungry, licking into Lando’s open mouth.
“Is this okay? Oh, god. This is a bad idea... Is this a bad idea? I want this so much,” Théo found himself fretting, a war waging between his inherent desire and need for Lando vs his guilty conscience.
It was months upon months of torture coming to a head. For so long, Lando had been driving himself crazy, forcing himself to write his best friend off as straight and coming up with other dumb reasons as to why Théo’s gaze lingered a little too long on his sometimes. He’d caught him looking before, but he’d never let himself believe that it was for any reason that stretched beyond platonic.
He’d made that mistake before, and it had left him with no friends. True, his friends had also been jackasses and as soon as he’d met the Moreaus and reunited with Ophelia, Lando had felt a lot less lonely. He hadn’t missed his old gang for a while, but he still remembered the fallout of his non-relationship with Robbie.
Robbie, who’d said he was straight. Robbie, who’d kissed Lando in secret. Robbie, who’d broken his heart in the end.
He tightened his grip in Théo’s hair, tugging lightly in the hopes it would spur another moan from his friend, a solid, audible noise that would reassure Lando he was doing a good job. That this was different and he wasn’t condemning himself to another doomed crush on a boy who only wanted to kiss him when nobody else was looking.
Girlfriend. He has a girlfriend. Keeley, he reminded himself. Squeezing his eyes shut, he pushed all thoughts of the annoying, freckly redhead out of his mind.
Maybe reason said he should remember her, remember the claim she’d staked on Théo before Lando ever could, but the feeling of Théo’s lips moving against his, soft and wet and dizzying, was enough to shut down all thoughts about why this was wrong.
“Not a bad idea. How could it be?” he asked, the words awkwardly mashed against Théo’s mouth. He tugged the other boy’s bottom lip between his teeth, dragging him closer with the hand on his hip. “It’s the best idea.”
He punctuated his words with a trail of kisses down Théo’s jaw, lips brushing the soft, sensitive skin of the other boy’s neck. A moan caught in the back of Lando’s throat and he pushed away from the counter, gently shoving Théo along with him. They crossed the tiny expanse of Lando’s shoebox apartment until Théo was toppling back onto his dilapidated sofa. It was old and pizza-stained and sagged in the middle but if quality control was on Théo’s mind right now, Lando wasn’t doing a good enough job of kissing him senseless.
“C’mere,” he said again, straddling his best friend’s lap, knees bracketing his thighs. “Fuck, c’mere.”
He pulled Théo in for another kiss, deep and slow. Less hurried, more meaningful.
“Tell me it doesn’t feel like this with her.”
