Episode 8: Halloween Fifteen (Part 2) This Halloween we went with a "Gotham City" theme. Jordan was Batman, Juliana was Batgirl, Mommy was Catwoman, Grandpa was the Riddler, and Daddy was joining from Vegas as "The Joker"!
Episode 7: "Halloween Fifteen" (Part 1) This past Saturday was our first adventure to the Boston Pumpkin Festival. We carved up 4 small pumpkins (though only brought two) to float alongside over 100 other little pumpkins on Frog Pond in Boston Commons. It was probably the coldest night we've had this far this fall, but it was all worth it! We had so much fun looking at the different designs. As it came to a close, we spotted the merry go round and Jordan took his first merry go round ride. He actually gave up a chance to get on it right away after he got his ticket and opted to wait until the "Dragon" was available. It was the final ride of the night and he was there with only a handful of other anxious kids. He's waiting in line and turns to the little girl next to him and said, "we are being patient, but waiting is hard". She responds, " yeah its hard but we just have to stand here"! They finally got to go on and decided to pick out rides next to each other (the dragon/sea-horse for Jordan, of course). Ended up being the perfect end to the night. Stay tuned for the actual Halloween festivities in Part 2 of our adventure!
Episode 6: “Under the Sea”
This is a bit late, but I somehow managed to lose the original video recorded a few weeks ago and only have pictures! In any event, we had an awesome time at our first trip to the New England Aquarium! We saw lots of penguins, huge turtles, sea lions, and fish. Jordan and Juliana both had a blast. Can’t wait to go again!
Episode 5: “Up, Up, and Away!”
Juliana took her first steps a little after 1pm today! Dad and grandpa were there to witness this historic feat!
Episode 4: "Avengers Assemble!"
“Marvel Universe !” was awesome, and Jordan loved it! Was very loud so I wasn’t sure how Juliana would react, but she was into it for the first half and napped there second half. Perfect family outing! #LandrumLeagueAdventures
Episode 3: “King and I” 👑
Dropped Jordan off for his first day of Kindergarten at King Elementary school! He was so excited!!! Jay and I were a bit nervous and excited too! He played on the playground a bit before school started and then lined up with his class. They had all of the parents on one side of the hall and the kids on the other. As he walked by, he says “Bye Mom!” and “I love you too!” and I almost started crying, but held it together 😜. Jay did too, though I think he came close to tearing up but won’t admit it! When I picked him up he told me how much he loved it, and wanted to stay and play on the playground (of course)! He really likes his be teacher, Mrs. Levitan, and he discovered that some of his buddies from daycare were in his class! Have a feeling this will be a great year for him😁.
Episode 2: “I ain’t scared of no coaster!”
Today we went on our first family trip to Canobie Lake park in Salem, NH. We went a bit late in the day (to get a discount), but it was perfect because it wasn’t too hot or to cool. When we got there, we met up with the “Arrington Avengers” (Uncle Ben, Taylor, and cuzzos). Immediately, Jordan dashed off with Uncle Ben to get in line for his very first ride at an amusement park. He waited in line with Darius patiently to board the car. When he got off, he was ready to go again! We went on a bunch of rides after that, and Jordan was down to go on every single one. He wasn’t tall enough to go on a coaster, but he went on rides that were high, ones that were spinning around, and one that was shaped like a caterpillar. If his cuzzo’s were going on it, he wanted to go too! He had a great time with his cousins! Juliana did great too! She went through the mirror maze with me and was smiling the whole time! For most of the evening, she hung out with daddy, or Uncle Ben & Taylor. For an 8 month old, she was a trooper and even stayed up to see the fireworks at 9:30! Her cousin Lyanna’s superpower has to be putting babies to sleep because for the 3rd time now a very alert Juliana was zonked in mere seconds! They must have a super special connection! 😄 Overall, this Landrum league adventure was a success! Very glad to have been able to spend the time with our Arrington fam. Until next time!
Episode 1: Comic Con Boston - An annual adventure
Every year for the past 3 or 4 years, we have attended the annual Boston Comic Convention. It’s always a ton of fun to see all of the costumes, the artists, the collectible toys, and some of the special guests. This year was particularly cool because Stan Lee was there! We didn’t get to see him, but did get a glimpse of Robin Lord Taylor who plays the penguin in Gotham. We also got to sit in on a DC Comics panel for the first time, which was really amazing! Of course, in this pic, our kids look completely uninterested. I can assure you, they both had a blast!
