i've seen posts pointing out that the Gray Fox having Hieronymus Lex reassigned to Anvil is actually a sign of deep respect for him; he's sending Lex to protect his wife. immense trust in his rival's capability and loyalty. which is true...

but i have not seen anyone point out that, as the Gray Fox returns to being the Count of Anvil at the end of the questline, Lex is now assigned as his Guard Captain. Lex's job is now to protect and serve the Gray Fox. and while the Fox trusting him to do this as well is also a sign of his respect for Lex, it is also kinda disrespectful lmao
