When she managed to chill a bit slightly impressed she hadn’t physically freaked out she offered him a smile “If you’re a science guy I should introduce you to some friends of mine, ever hear of Dr. Jane Foster and Erik selvig?”

“Ah,” Abe said. “I believe I may have a text authored by Dr. Foster. Astrophysics, yes?” He tsked a bit and sank to the bottom of the tank, sitting cross-legged in thought. 

“I must confess to only a base understanding of the subject. In my human days I was fond of the stars. Now I find they only indicate trouble.”

“Sounds about right,” Darcy admitted to him shrugging “but ya I was jane’ vs intern and now I’m her best friend and am totally responsible for her and Thor being together.” Darcy told him a bit proud of herself

“If you’re more of a mechanics guy or interested in radiation I could score a few papers from stark and banner I’m sort of surrounded by science geeks now a days.”

Abe’s forehead creased thoughtfully. “I appreciate it, yes. I’m always looking for new reading material.” He considered the rest of her statement for a moment before adding, “Are a matchmaker then?” Lord, he hadn’t met on of those in a while. “By trade, I mean? I have this friend. Large and boorish. A bit impulsive and well… red. But he has a good heart and he’s still really broken up about his ex. Maybe I’ll give you his information?”

Abe loves storms, being an aquatic creature. The sound of thunder reminds him of the sound of water moving around him and waves crashing when he’s lucky enough to be swimming in larger bodies of water.

3. Bad Habits – Over time, Abe’s table manners has somewhatdiminished as he is no longer accustomed to eating at a table with his peers orguests. Rather, he normally eats in his tank or alone in his study, paying nomind to the method of which he consumes his food – he frequently practices hisback flips while catching eggs in his tank. Of course, when he’s in the companyof others, he does his best to remember his etiquette.

8. Mistakes Repeated – When one lives as long as Abe has,one loses people. Everyone he knew and loved from his former life seems to bedead, and recently, he lost the Professor as well. He knows he shouldn’t lethimself care about Red or Liz or any of his associates, but he just can’t helpit. They’re family.

15. Ignorance or Prejudice – He isn’t. Really. Not at all.Being something other than human himself, who is he to judge anyone else? Overthe years, he’s learned that everyone is different and everyone is the same.

Smiling more to the remark, Margaret followed Abe’s guiding hand to direct her attention towards the direction of the chair, seeing the blurred outline of it from her own body heat radiating to the area around her, turning her head back to gaze at the aquatic humanoid. “I do not mind at all…and please, call me Margaret,” she insisted softly, her feet gently kicking off her shoes before she began to walk closer towards the tank.

Resting her hand gingerly on the glass, Margaret could feel the vibrations ripple through the tank of water from Abe’s own heartbeat, blind scarred eyes closing for but a moment to take in the sensation before opening her eyes again.

“Would you be alright if I joined you in the water? That would make it easier for you to read me, yes?” she asked softly.

“Oh, that won’t be necessary,” Abe said with a smile his guest couldn’t really see. “I can read you just fine from here.” 

He smiled and spoke the next sentence in her mind, “You’re at an appropriate physical proximity for my talents. As I’m sure you can see me just fine, in your way.” He didn’t add that no one but himself had ever been in that tank and the presence of another person seemed uncomfortable, like a stranger crawling into his bed. 

Abe switched back to verbal conversation, most people found mindspeak intrusive, “My gifts showed up when I transformed into the creature that I am today. Do you mind if I ask you when you discovered your talents? Did it have to do with whatever caused your blindness?” He hoped his tone was polite enough.
