Wow Ilse, you are so mature and beautiful, I wish I could be more like you. What a lucky guy I am to get to spend so much time with you. You're so cool, I'm jealous for everybody who isn't me and doesn't get to hang out with you. Amazing.

imagine person a of your (br)otp switching the sugar out with salt before person b is awake. person b makes their coffee before so much as glancing in person a’s general direction, as usual, and dumps a butt load of “sugar” into their coffee before drinking it. person a is fighting back laughter and tears until they realize person b is giving them a death glare while they gulp down their entire 16 oz. cup of salty coffee without skipping a beat because they are the alpha and what is weakness.

"ʏᴏᴜ'ʀᴇ ʟᴀᴛᴇ, ʙʀᴀᴜɴ," she says, voice stern. She doesn’t have to look up to know who it is. He has heavy feet, and she’s used to them by now. She’d known he was here before he even opened the door.
She glances up, but as soon as she does, her grumpy facade breaks.
“It’s been a while. Where’ve you been?” she asks, struggling against a fond grin. She can’t say much, really; she was late, too.

babysitting necessitates the presence of a CHILD- a title which no man or woman, sworn to facilitate the progress of humanity, can adhere to. there were no CHILDREN among them; the tides of warfare would sweep away all traces of youth, as it would footprints in the sand. yet, somehow, the woman left in her charge (a subordinate in charge; how ironic.) has managed to cling onto a scrap of juvenile ways. she can feel the glare burning into her skin… yet, an expression plated in neutrality does not falter.
ɪʟsᴇ ᴄʟᴇᴀʀs ʜᴇʀ ᴛʜʀᴏᴀᴛ. She’d meant to be abrasive, but the soldier’s failure to react stole the steam from her words, and reluctantly she deflates. Clearly she won’t be getting under this girl’s skin, at least not through any means of bullheadedness.
“So what do you think of me, then?” she asks. She’s probably overanalyzing, but she’s been met with such distrust since she was found again, and it isn’t something she knows how to handle. It’s so different than it was before...
She’d had friends, people she trusted. People she was close to. She’d once been a part of the Survey Corps. Now she was being held in their custody. Somehow it matters to her what this girl thinks.

“ ... You’re in my spot,” she says finally. The tone of her voice is not so much confrontational as perplexed. This is her spot.
Actually, it’s an unmarked tree at the edge of the woods, and bears not even the slightest indicator of ownership, but it is where she settles in the afternoons to write in her notebook and sketch, and it’s close enough to the mess hall that she can watch her fellow scouts without being so close as to actively interrupt their daily routine with her staring.
She had not prepared herself to find her spot taken, and she now finds herself entirely unequipped to handle the situation with grace.

He’s never quite learned about TABLE MANNERS, and so the moment the food’s placed in front of him at dinner, he’s stuffing it into his face. Even as all eyes in the room fall on him, he continues eating as if he’ll be r i p p e d away from the plate at any moment now.
sʜᴇ's ʙᴇᴇɴ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜɪɴɢ ʜɪᴍ for the better part of the last five minutes. In a way, it’s fascinating. She’s not the most polite of table guests, but she was raised with the basics. Her proximity to Kyukuro, however, makes her feel nothing short of a proper debutante.
“ ... You’ve got some... food... on your...”
Her finger trails unsurely, gesturing to the entirety of his visible frame.

❝Hitch.❞ Short. Cold. Hitch didn’t know Ilse yet, at all, and there was no need for her to tell her entire name. Hitch would be enough for the two of them to communicate and get along, and something about this woman set her off. Her presence felt weird, almost dangerous, and Hitch could tell that despite her average appearance she was everything but an average woman. For a moment Hitch regretted accepting this job, even if it meant getting out of the boring routine that working in the MP was.
❝We’ll be stuck here, yeah. So I guess maybe you could tell me why exactly you need someone to watch over you?❞
ᴛʜɪs ᴛɪᴍᴇ ʜᴇʀ sᴍɪʟᴇ ɪs genuine, if enigmatic.
“I could tell you,” she offers, “but you’d call me a liar. Everybody thinks I’m a liar when I tell them.”
Even the squad who’d found her seemed hard pressed to believe her tale, and they had seen the proof of it. She’d been outside the wall when they had stumbled across her, after all. It’s not as though she could have just let herself out, and there was little question as to who she was. It wasn’t as if no one had known her. She had been a squad leader, however brief her time had been.
“I’m from outside the walls. Well, not originally, but for the last year.”
To Me From Another World (closed w/ langnxr)
“For the first time ever, mankind will see that universal travel is indeed possible.” Ilse spoke to a camera on record held by an assistant as she scurried around in her laboratory. There were a few essential things left to do before she could finally put her life’s work into use. That work, if one was to ask, was a machine which was capable of bringing a person into a different universe.
Universes were a topic that baffled scientists for time immemorial and Ilse was one of the first, if not the first to actually understand and create a machine which could cross through different dimensions and universes. What was pretty good about this machine was that it was portable and appeared like a highly reinforced, steel business briefcase on the outside with the navigational computers inside.
Ilse put the things she needed, water, her notebook, a camera, and other things that served documentary and survival purposes in her bag and wore it on her back before she went over to the briefcase-like computer and typed in the coordinates of a universe she found most intriguing. She turned to the camera and her assistant and said, “See you, Joan.” She put her goggles over her eyes then pressed down on the button to initiate travel and closed the lid afterward. A bright purplish-white light emitted, enveloping Ilse and the computer and after some seconds, the light vanished alongside Ilse and the machine. The assistant simply stood in awe at what she just witnessed.
The travel was quite challenging for the eyes. Everything was a swirling mass of colors that surrounded her; stars appeared as bright white streaks and before she knew it, she reached her destination.
She arrived accompanied by a light and quick pop sound. Quite an unfitting sound effect if she said so herself. The place she arrived in was a peculiar and rather old-fashioned bedroom of sorts. She put the navigational computer and her bag down beside her then shuffled through the things inside the her backpack. She took out her camera then started recording what was around her.
“See, I have finally reached my destination. It seems like I have arrived in some sort of bedroom and–” She stopped midsentence when she saw a person standing by the door.
You are…
Ilse stared wide-eyed at the person who was just about as shocked as she was. The person was a girl just about her height with lightly tanned skin, freckles, and the same exact hair. She pulled the goggles down so it dangled around her neck.
“You’re Ilse Langnar…?”

ɪʟsᴇ ʜᴀᴅ sᴘᴇɴᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏʀɴɪɴɢ in training. It’s how she spent most mornings. The best way to survive was to be prepared; she’d never been that good as a soldier, but she made up for it with her attention to detail and her sheer determination. She would train until she could barely make the walk back to her bed some days. (Of course, other days, she would sleep through the whole afternoon. Her determination was sometimes overridden by her self-indulgent behaviors. This morning, it had not been so.)
She paused outside the door, allowing herself a minute to catch her breath while she uses her sleeve to wipe away the sweat and dirt from her cheeks. She’d have to find time to wash her jacket soon...
Several seconds passed after Ilse entered the room before she happened to lift her head enough to notice a figure standing in the middle of the room. She stumbled back, startled, back hitting the wall. Instinct kept her hands from falling to the hilts of her gear -- even frightened, she would never intentionally use her gear on another person.
... But it wasn’t another person.
Ilse’s eyes settled on the intruder -- she couldn’t call her a stranger, she was far too familiar for that -- and her mind searched through anyone she had ever met, digging for the face before her before finally the impossible truth dawned on her.
“ -- I am... and you’re...?” She didn’t dare say it. It would sound foolish. She knew it couldn’t be the truth, after all. Perhaps she’d lost consciousness while she was training this morning. Maybe she’d never woken up at all, and she was still dreaming soundly in her bed. Whatever the case, she knew she could not be seeing what she believed she was seeing. There must have been some other explanation.
