The interior of this house is decorated with words. 

It is inhabited by a Syrian refugee. He spent three days writing down hundreds of Dutch phrases and hanging them on the walls, the closets, the refrigerator, his bedroom, and soon the entire interior was coloured with the words. 

He gained attention when a police officer visited him and posted these two pictures on Twitter with the following caption:

“This man is working really hard to learn the Dutch language. Respect.“

I work in a two star hotel. My colleague, who speaks 5 languages, told me about a situation when he was once checking in guests - a young couple of Russians (as it turned out later, from the rich part of Moscow). The girl started speaking to him in English so he kept up the conversation in English. Suddenly the boy turned to the girl and said in Russian that he hopes their room won’t smell like urine and emesis. My colleague just smiled at him and replied in Russian that it surely won’t be that way as our rooms are cleaned everyday. The boy got so embarassed he almost burned alive.  The moral of the story is never be rude in foreign languages.

fact: to improve in language learning you have to be constant, speak with natives and practice almost - if not - everyday.
