Derelict - Abandoned vessels or cargo with no hope or intention of recovery. Summary: As punishment for his crimes, the infamous Six-Eared Macaque was sealed within a magical lantern by the Buddha and forced to grant any wishes the lantern holder desires. The final words from Buddha were thus: "Never will you be free from this punishment until you learn and perform an act of true selflessness." After centuries of granting others' wishes, Macaque now finds himself stuck with an enigmatic snake demon named Zhixiu. Though... rather than making him grant the only wish they have, they offer a deal: they'll find a way to free him from the lantern, and when they do, he'll erase the memories of their past.

Lantern Bound is widely considered to have a PG-13 rating, as it will contain depictions of violence, gore, emotionally distressing events, and swearing that some readers may find upsetting.

The little dillweed himself. He won't show up in the comic for a hot minute, but GOD I love him, man.

Fun fact: He was actually SUPER shy when he was younger, always clinging to his mama's dress and hiding behind her. Then he became a theater kid. It was all downhill from there.

Bonus: Baby Fengshe when he's still adorable and shy.

Translation: How did Lihua's husband Marshal Liu die?

SO!! In the comic, Liu will still be alive, but in my FanFiction: Trouble Is a Friend, he was killed during the burning of Flower Fruit Mountain. Erlang Shen was the one to kill him :)

I wouldn't say they have the same relationship; it's more like I can see it, kinda. Mostly with them being little shits to each other (especially Fengshe to Wukong), but I also stopped watching MCU movies, like, back when Avengers came out and I only know pieces of it through clips from TikTok X"D

Fengshe and Wukong have their own kind of relationship that's... both complicated but also filled with a lot of care for one another. As much of a little shit Fengshe is, he'd do anything for his big bro, and vice versa for Wukong!

Quelle est la relation de wukong avec lihua et liu et Son frère ? Pour moi leur relation ressemble a thor et loki du mcu ?

FORGIVE ME I DON'T KNOW FRENCH SO I HAD TO USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE! Translated: What is Wukong's relationship with Lihua, Liu, and his brother? To me, their relationship resembles that of Thor and Loki from the MCU. To answer: Lihua is Wukong's adoptive mother! In my little world, Wukong (and Macaque) were born as babies from their stone eggs, and Lihua found him and raised him~

Liu is Lihua's husband and, in turn, Wukong's adoptive father. The two got married when Wukong and Macaque were... probably young adults (equivalent to maybe their early twenties?).

As for his brother, that's Fengshe, the birth child to Lihua and Liu! Relationship-wise, I can def see them as a sort of Loki/Thor relationship, but I'd say it's more like... Fengshe def has "baby brother" energy, but he's definitely more of a little shit than a spoiled brat. He loves his big brother, though, and big bro loves him~

And Wukong DEFINITELY loves his papa and mama, he will (and has) do anything for them

Next up, the monkey, the asshole, the legend: Macaque! Drawing his big scar and the white streaks in his fur has been so much fun to do. I can't wait to wipe that smug grin off his face.

Fun fact: His hands bear more scars because he's more likely to use them in fighting. He doesn't often use his feet in battle.

Staring off the character lineup with our main character, Zhixiu (pronounced "Ji-show")! The snake demon that somehow has an uncanny amount of luck and a fighting style similar to Sun Wukong's... Wonder what that's about?

Fun fact: Zhixiu's general design and snake form is based off of the Yellow-Lipped Sea Krait.

When I first made Zhixiu, I originally planned for them to be more expressive, but then, as I figured out their lore, I made them much more deadpan/emotionless

This was also when I was figuring out how to draw their hair uirevhreiuvhiu It's so much poofier now in recent doodles

I still love these expression doodles I made for them, though, but DEFINITELY don't expect them to emote much in the beginning of the comic X"D
