My favorite thing about watching The Untamed bts clips is not yizhan and their antics, it's the way the other actors react to it. Especially when they're trapped in the third wheel role.

Liu Haikuan (Lan Xichen) always looks genuinely amused and I headcanon that he ships it.

Xuan Lu (Jiang Yanli) OBVIOUSLY ships it. She ships it so much even Temu can't compare.

Ji Li (Nie Huai Sang) and Yubin (Wen Ning) are either amused, annoyed, or resigned, depending on the clip.

But my favorite is Wang Zuo Cheng (Jiang Cheng) , he never knows wtf is going on and is always 70% confused 30% scared lmao. Like, Marius, my sweet baby, homoerotic playfighting can't hurt you as long as it's not you doing it. You're a theater kid, you must have seen it before.

For context: the famous "Every day means every day" said by Lan Zhan in Chinese is 天天就是天天 'tian tian jiu shi tian tian', and Day Day Up's name in Chinese is 天天向上 'tian tian xiang shang' (that's what they sang here).

So, when they started singing 'Tian... Tian...' the MDZS fans in the audience made the connection (you can even hear a girl's voice saying "tian tian jiu shi tian tian") and began cackling, and you can see GG trying to hold it in but failing 😂

Now that the first wave of candies have subsided, I shall emerge from hiding (before the second wave hits!! I can feel it coming guys *types faster*)

So why the hiding? Heh heh...it was to see how big a hole WYB could dig for himself last month and boy did he not disappoint 😆

First of all, what has Zhan-ge been doing? Very simply, he's been happily filming his spy drama in Shanghai, with cute little pictures released here and there. Aww... XZ why are you so cute T_T_T_T_T_T

Now. What has WYB been doing? 😏

After Haute Couture Week in Paris (8 July) and one event in Beijing (10 July), he essentially disappeared for the entirety of July. Ads, photos etc. were being released, but no one knew where he was. Nothing leaked, no coincidental meetings, nothing. This is important, because it really truly does mean that if WYB doesn't want you to know where he is, you will not know where he is. Y13 and I were giggling for the entire month saying he was prob in Shanghai the whole of July. But prob lots of flying back and forth to Beijing coz of the stream of ads released.

Then, came August.

Acutally, even on his birthday (5 Aug), there was still no news on his exact whereabouts. HOWEVER (and I'm sure this is common knowledge by now), XZ showed a weird little blip in his usual filming schedule (as reported by squatters doing the devil's work, and compiled by me, also doing the devil's work):

LOOK AT THAT 👀 and tell me that XZ didn't leave work exceptionally early to go celebrate someone's birthday!! He only works less than 12 h if it's non-drama filming (ads, photoshoots etc.), otherwise it's a solid 11-13 h day and he nevers leaves before 7pm. But precisely on 5 Aug, he leaves at 5 pm and only works for 8 h on a drama filming day. WHAT ELSE can it be other than celebrating someone's birthday????!

(btw DO NOT even consider the need to fly back and forth between shanghai and beijing an obstacle, it's a 2h flight that's like taking the bus to WYB)

THEN came the Pechoin fan meet on 8 Aug. Hur Hur.

WYB now had a legit reason to actually appear in Shanghai. So, suddenly, after a month-long disappearing act, WYB surfaces at the airport and flies from Beijing to Shanghai in full view. He then appears at said event, in an excellent mood, high spirits, very present, very engaged (I'm more used to seeing him zone out during these fan meets 😅). Then...doesn't leave Shanghai?

Wait a minute, wait a minute. This is not his usual pattern. This is a guy who flies home to Beijing immediately after events. On the same day, if possible. Even if the events are across the globe!

Oh wait no, no. He's got race track practice in Shangai (10-12 Aug). Sorta fair enough maybe? There was still one whole day in between.

But WAIT. What's this? A new Leica camera? An M9??

Why are you lugging around a >£2000 camera around the race track??? And making one of your bodyguards carry it around to boot (yknow, in case ppl say it's a borrowed camera. Nope, it's mine, Zhan-ge gave it to me for my birthday and everyone needs to get that right 😤)

AND XZ!!! Whatcha mean you got recharged to 100% by whom, by what??? (11 Aug)

And another blip appears in XZ's schedule, perfectly coinciding with when WYB departed for his Chanel photoshoot (13 Aug).

Then XZ is off for one day (14 Aug), and was allegedly seen watching a play that day, at a venue supposedly a 10-min drive away from WYB's Chanel event. So speculations were rampant about WYB going over to pick XZ up after the play 🤣🤣 I kinda buy it coz the timings fit AND WYB didn't look at his phone during the Chanel event (coz somebody turned their phone off during the play XD XD) nor did he drink during the event (coz he had to drive them home maybe???😆) ALSO he was seen looking at someone else's camera 😆

Ok Ok so NOW he's gonna disappear and/or fly back to Beijing now (even just performatively), right? right?

Then, he goes silent for a few days. IP address becomes Beijing eventually, so one thinks, oh ok he's gone home finally.

THEN HE FREAKING POPS UP IN CANADA at an Asian supermarket (~21, 22 Aug?)

AND he's holding another camera* while hanging from a cliff 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

(*not the new M9 of course, prob get murdered if he dropped it off the cliff)

It is said that he was attending the Arc'teryx 2025 Climb Academy in Squamish (22-24 Aug).

So it suddenly all makes sense, he was practicing at the climbing centre before the event, flew to Beijing to pack, and then flew off again to the academy XD XD

IF there was no one in Shanghai, he could have flown back to Beijing, gone to his regular climbing centre in Beijing on 15 Aug, and then fly off (19 or 20 Aug) from Beijing. But, y'know, home is where the bunny is so...

I look forward to the second wave of antics. There are rumours that XZ's parents are visiting so we may see the tent at the race in September XD XD

i almost forgot that the month of august is usually when wyb would agree to do brand fanmeets or events. it’s perfect cause it’s a chance for fans to see him in person on his birth month. and that’s what happened last night with the pechoin fanmeet. we were clowning about xz’s loreal live the day before and i honestly didn’t expect anything to happen at pechoin. and technically, nothing did, but you can see it. he literally didn’t have to do or say anything.

Fake, fan fiction, CPN.

You're basically asking if DD is gay or bisexual, or if he only likes GG and not other men. This is a question that's impossible to answer. It's not like he's going to come out and announce his sexuality to the world, for various reasons I've outlined at length in other posts.

And you might not be aware, but the notion that GG and DD are 'only gay for each other' is a very homophobic, fairly widespread attitude in the fandom. A lot of fans only accept GG and DD's queerness insofar as it serves their fantasies about GG and DD's relationship, and beyond that they wrinkle their noses and try to erase it to the best of their ability.

As I've said many times, if we believe GG and DD are in a relationship, we must accept that they are, in fact, queer. Whether homosexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality or whatever - some form of queerness is a prerequisite to them being together. Full stop.

This is an important distinction to make because queer acceptance is under fire across the world, and homophobia in any form serves to further the agenda of eroding and rolling back queer rights. This directly impacts GG and DD and their ability to be together. It directly impacts any queer person in this world. It behooves everyone who loves GG and DD and 'loves their love' to support queer rights and queer protections locally and across the globe.

We can't claim to love them and 'love their love' if we don't support queer rights. It's simply not a coherent position to take. I also believe it would deeply hurt GG and DD to know that we like them but dislike queer people/queer relationships or find them disgusting, or that we like GG and DD but don't support queer rights.

If we love GG and DD, then we need to put our money where our mouth is and find a way to be an ally to queer rights and queer people everywhere.

As for whether DD is gay or bi, like I said, it's impossible to know. I personally believe he's gay, which I talked about more in this post a while back, but that's just my personal perspective. I have no special insight just because I'm gay.

Has he behaved with any other guy the way he behaves with GG? Not really. I've never seen him behave with anyone else in the irreverent, often lewd, crude and rude ways he behaves with GG - at least, not to the same degree. The fact that theyr'e both so impolite with each other is a dead giveaway for how close a relationship they have.

I've also never seen his sajiao emerge so consistently and persistently with anyone besides GG. I've never seen him as gleeful as when he's got something up his sleeve about GG. I've never seen him so incapable of containing himself or schooling his features into neutrality in relation to anyone else but GG.

Yes, he has done some playfighting, joking around, and even whiny sajiao around his Uniq brothers and even sometimes around his DDU brothers, but never to the same extreme, and never with the same tone of sexual/romantic tension as GG.

Having said all of that, I feel it's misguided to fixate on or to compare their relationships with other people vs their relationships with each other. It's unseemly, frankly, to try to discredit the authenticity and intimacy of their friendships with other people just to get a sugar high. GG and DD can and do have good relationships with many people. The fact that they do is no threat to them as a couple, and should be respected.

Just because something is a candy to us as fans - say, the fact that they playfight so much - doesn't mean that we own it as a fandom. Doesn't mean that if one of them were to playfight with someone else it would in any way discredit GG and DD's intimacy or relationship. Jealous insecurity is not a quality I respect in fans. In my view it betrays a certain inability to respect GG and DD as individuals.

We also need to learn to take things in their totality rather than focusing on and jealously guarding each individual factor/candy.

Yes, they playfight. Yes, they whine at each other. Yes, they share nasal spray. If someone else were to share all of those factors, it would mean sweet FA as far as I'm concerned.

Does that person also share the same clothing brands/items, the same unusual linguistic idiosyncrasies, the same sense of humor, laugh and other unconscious behaviors, the same interpersonal connections, the same style and approach to studio output, the same interests and goals? Do they have anywhere near the amount and degree of coincidences, compatibilities and connections?

The answer will always be: no.

So I don't get why turtles fixate on things like this, and get insecure if one or two similarities are seen elsewhere in their lives. Nothing will ever match the towering mountain of connections we've observed between them.
