observing a lot of discourse and confusion in this fandom and wondering why ppl tend to adultify children’s media?? like all the debates about fusion and what it’s meant to represent, why does it have to be sexual or even romantic? we know gems who fuse for no other reason than they need to. like the rubies and topaz to some extent. it’s expected that they work together in a fusion form. pearl and amethyst work together as opal when necessary. steven fused with his dad to achieve a goal. i think it’s fair to look at fusion as romantic in some aspects such as with ruby and sapphire but that doesn’t inherently make fusion a romantic thing.
