Keeping watch.
Cozy.
She is incredibly asleep.
I think I may finally have enough plants in here.
A story in five parts.
Snood Time
I guess it’s time to find another spot for the catnip.
Here’s our new friend, Marius!
friendly reminder that pets’ bodies do not handle fat the same way human bodies do. obesity in animals often greatly reduces their life span. also, body positivity does not to apply to your pets, so discussing the dangers of them being obese is not “body shaming” them
if you have a pet that is morbidly obese due to overfeeding, you are actively participating in animal neglect at best by failing to provide them with the appropriate diet
stop acting like concern over an animal’s obesity is in any way similar to body shaming humans
Also check with your vet about your pet’s weight. Most people have a really skewed perception of a healthy weight because so many dogs and cats are underweight. Don’t assume just because your vet hasn’t said anything that you’re all good. Start the conversation about your pet’s diet.
I actually have found it to be the opposite. People have a skewed perception of a healthy weight because so many pets are OVERweight. Sooooo many people have thought dogs that are a normal weight are starving or something because they don’t know what a healthy, fit dog looks like.
Yeah it’s definitely the opposite. Most American pets are overweight and if your pet is actually a healthy weight/a tad lean people will call them “too skinny”.
I suggest joining fit/active dog groups for examples of what to achieve when trying to get your dog in shape
Theres a good possibility that your chubby dog will be considered “healthy” by a vet
I feel like labradors are the prime example of this. Labradors are notorious for being overweight or obese purely bc their owner thinks that’s normal for the breed BECAUSE all other labs they see are fat.
Every time a fit and lean Labrador comes in, waist and all, and the owner goes “do you think her weight is ok?? I feel like she’s too skinny” the vet or the nurse will almost always jump over themselves to be like NO SHES PERFECT KEEP HER LIKE THIS PLEASE.
Remington is 4 years old today!

Denver had an excellent training session at Half Price Books today!
The comfiest boy.
New friend! He was in a tank by himself because he kept beating up the other gerbils. Hopefully, with some more enrichment he will be able to accept a friend, since gerbils tend to like being in groups. If not, he’ll get plenty of love and playtime with his new mama.
If anybody has any tips on getting gerbils to accept new friends, please let me know. Or, if he is destined to live by himself, what are some fun things I can do with him so that he can have a good time being an only child?
Yuffie bent and cracked one of her toenails so now she has to wear a little gauze sock. She hates it.
New friend! This is Denver and, while he’s not ours, he gets babysat enough to be on our page!
My little mouse friend Pepito has passed away. He was snuggled in his hammock sack not moving, even when I jostled it around. He was just starting to let me hold him and pat him for long periods of time. ):
