BIOGRAPHY

Lara was born and raised in the Aurora Bay and grew up in a close-knit family of four. Her parents owned a restaurant and Lara spent much of her childhood in the kitchen, learning to cook and bake alongside her family. However, as she got older, Lara began to pursue a career in business and marketing, and after graduating from college with a degree in business administration, she decided to open her own cafe. Despite the challenges of starting a business, Lara was determined to make her dream a reality. Lara's journey to open The Black Cat Cafe started with a small loan from her parents, and a dream. She spent hours perfecting her recipes, designing the cafe's interior and exterior, and marketing her business to the local community.

Despite her success as a cafe owner, Lara can be quite disorganized at times. She tends to have a messy desk, and often forgets minor details such as restocking supplies or replying to emails on time. Her mother, often has to remind her to stay on top of things. However, despite her disorganized nature, Lara is able to keep her business running smoothly. Her employees have become adept at anticipating her needs and helping her stay on top of things, and Lara's charm and kindness help to keep her customers coming back.

Oriana had no idea how the dating pool was so much like a desert for so many people. Everyone had no luck and it was really annoying. She missed when it was easier. "I don't know. "It kind of makes me wish I knew the backstory behind both sides, to get a feel on who's right and who's wrong." Lara said smiling, "Instead of sitting here speculating on which side to choose, at this point, I'm on the cats side."

"Nope, not at all. I generally mean it." Lucas smiled, a hint of amusement in his eyes. He enjoyed getting to spend time with Lara and talk to her. It was one of the things he looked forward to after working. Plus he didn't mind their awkward nature with one another as they both tried to flirt. Something about it was charming in a way and he was loving every minute of it.

"Oh...well then that's good, at least I don't sound like a dumb ass...I hope." Lara said laughing, awkward was practically her middle name at this point and attempting to flirt with Lucas was embarrassing. She could feel her face starting to heat up as she tried to get in touch with her flirty nature but that appeared to not be happening.

"You know what...that's exactly what it's like...ridiculous but well what can you do." Lara said with a simple smile. "Yeah, it's not the greatest but you gotta do what you gotta do in these conditions."

"I want to say science, it was always interesting to see how things worked and especially when it came to biology."

"Nah, I'm not talking about whether or not they could see one, I'm talking logistics," Peter explains, taking a gulp of his coffee.

"Like, vampires can't be out in the sun, right? I don't know much about them but I know that much. And you need sunlight to have a rainbow, right? So just by mere presence alone with their bare eyes, they couldn't stand outside and see one, could they? They could see one if they wanted, but it would probably kill them."

He pauses a beat.

"That's actually fucking beautiful when you think about it."

He then frowns and shakes his head again at her proposal.

"Nah, the light would fuck you over again. Unless you wanted to open an exclusively night hours coffee house."

"Oh god can you imagine? Late night coffee hours? I don't think the cats would enjoy people--which I assume would be intoxicated harassing the cats." Lara said with a slight frown, it would definitely give her a lot of money to ring in for business but she wasn't about to have the cats deal with drunken idiots.

"I think i'll stick with my normal hours besides I don't think I could hire more people to work night shifts..as ideal it sounds." She said with a slight sad smile and laughed lightly. "But the fact you used vampires as an example was not what I was expecting for you to say."

Oriana had never thought she'd be married before the age of thirty two until it almost happened and now it seemed stupid to even think that it would happen. "People say you'll find something when you least expect it, but then always say that and when it happens there's always something horrible or immature about the person." She was tired of it all. "I don't really think it's in my cards and that's okay."

"I never believe when people say the right person will come in the picture because let's be realistic, half the men our ages are immature." Lara grimaces at the thought. "The dating pool is very shallow and terrible. Like I'm bisexual so dating both genders is a gamble. I will either get a U-Haul lesbian or I get a very immature man. Not the best of both worlds."

He asked curiously, knowing he did and he wasn't proud of it, but he took on a lot at work, probably more than just an illustrator should. "Of course, I'll happily get that for you. "I actually work at a cafe so I know all about coffee...or at least try too anyways." Lara said smiling, "I can go with a Chai Tea latte actually--with almond milk. Coffee gets me a little too hyper and I actually like to function without the jitters."

She had a level of chaos within her that moments like these seemed to highlight. “ I feel like that’s giving way too much credit. There’s nothing going on up there that would distract me from a cat fight or fight about cats “ she added. That wasn’t entirely true though. "From my understanding I think the girl is winning which like go for her but I feel kind of bad for the guy because he's standing there like an idiot unable to come up with some excuse." Lara said laughing, "I'm trying really hard to mind my business but you know...kind of hard not too."

It wasn't that simple. Oriana had loved that life she'd had with her ex. She knew it was a good relationship—it felt natural and she'd wanted it. She hadn't felt friendship for him. Hell, she hadn't even thought that they were friends before they started dating. They'd fit well together. But clearly her own brain thought something was wrong when she just got up and left with no explanation. "I don't think that's the case for me. I still love him. I just left. I don't know what spooked me." Probably nothing. It was probably her active brain coming up with problems that weren't there.

"That's the thing, it did." That was the worst advice someone could give her. She hadn't been looking for love with her ex. She hadn't even been looking for friendship. "I've been focused on my career most of my life. Relationships were never my main concern."

"I think that's everyone's response when it comes to relationship, they never thought it would happen and it did. It kind of irks me that when it does, the people that told you that love will happen when you least expect it happens right." Lara got often told that since being single at a woman in her thirties. Even by her own mother who still held out hope for her to magically fall in love and start a family. As if life was that easy for her.

Lalita had not noticed the other couple fighting but as soon as she heard there were people really not enjoying the festivities, the radio dj got curious. “ no worries, point them out “ Lalita noted as she turned with a drink at hand. “ damn fighting over the kids. "Right behind you at 2 o'clock. They are quite loud and I'm surprised you haven't been ease dropping." Lara said laughing, "Then again maybe you were lost in thought and didn't pay them any mind because I usually find myself doing that on rare occasions when I have a lot on my mind."

"I am as well. Makes me happy to know they are." Lucas gave her a smile back. Sure there were awkward moments but he didn't feel as awkward as he usually did. Though he just ended up complimenting her or saying the first thing on his mind which seemed to be working. At least it was better than him being awkward himself even though he knew he could get that way at anytime. "I won't plus I don't mind if that happens. I do things like that myself or get a bit awkward."

"Are you just saying that to make me feel better?" Lara questioned jokingly. She did appreciate it though if that was the case. She enjoyed Lucas's company and their silly little convos, it was the highlight of her week most of the time. With the awkward flirting and the giddy smiles, she wouldn't have it any other way.
