iâm obsessed with how giggly Isa Briones is, like girl is always making herself laugh and i truly respect it
Santos is one of the angriest people you are ever going to meet.

ISA BRIONES behind the scenes for New York Magazine
i love it whenever trin makes robby think dennis wants food but its actually just her
(but robby caught on ofc but still does it cuz he doesnât wanna be at the end of her wrath lol)
[Scott] Gemmill knew he wanted [Isa] Briones for The Pitt early on, but the studio hemmed and hawed about Brionesâs potential unlikability after seeing her as Santos. âThatâs the character,â Gemmill insisted. Briones remembers auditioning remotely (she was still doing Hadestown eight shows a week) and being told she had the role, but then that one executive wasnât convinced and she needed to tape another scene going âballs to the wall.â âI was very upset at that point,â Briones said. âDonât offer me a job and take it away.â Gemmill wrote her a new scene, which appears in the show, where Santos threatens a child abuser in his hospital bed. She went all out. Then they called and told her she really had the role. âI had already celebrated and mourned,â Briones says, with a shrug of her shabu-shabu tongs.
Since then, The Pitt has blown up in an unlikely way for any cultural object in the 2020s, much less a gruesome medical drama. The show became a runaway hit on HBO Max, won a bevy of Emmy Awards including Best Drama, and looks like a surefire contender again for its second season. Your parents watch it, and maybe so do your Gen-Z cousins. Initially, Briones took a detached approach to the reaction her character provoked. As the first season was airing, people would come up to her on the street and tell her they hated her, a reaction so strong that she found it funny. âIn real time, you got to see people grapple with their biases,â she says, âso I was having fun with it.â But as some of that hate continues, Briones has found it difficult to process.
In The Pittâs second season, we see scars on Santosâs thighs, and there is a scene where she grabs a scalpel off a cart, indicating that she is struggling with self-harm. Briones worked closely with the showâs writers as they developed the story line, giving notes on drafts. Sheâs pleased that some audience members were moved by the depiction and that Santosâs scars werenât sexualized. But as someone who has had her own mental-health challenges, she says, she finds it trickier to engage with people who still loathe Santos after being exposed to that side of her. âI know itâs about the character, but when itâs your face and itâs things youâve experienced in your own life, it becomes harder to separate,â she says. âSome people have really stayed hating her. I used to give a lot of grace. If youâre still this critical of her and not critical of Langdon, I think youâre just a misogynist.â

THE PITT S2
This is frying me, omg I love her
dr whitaker and dr santos after gay bar :p
i'm thinking about that interview where isa said that the reason santos is being more distant/cold with whitaker this season is because she's realising how much she actually cares about him and she's not used to having someone to care about.....ur telling me she's being mean to him because she loves him too much and it's scaring her......im overdosing on the whitsantos siblingism cocaine......
people really asking âwhy trust ROBBY of all peopleâ and âwth happened in those 10 monthsâ as if Robby didnât prove to Trinity on her VERY FIRST DAY that he was a man to be trusted when she hesitantly, fearfully, came forward about his GOLDEN BOY and not only did Robby follow up immediately when she had no reason to believe he would, but he very calmly came to check on her and reassure her that it wasnât her fault. and then he spent the next 10 months letting her trust her gut and telling her that was a good thing. her special sauce.
never beating the siblings allegations
