Every time you look at the mirror you ask yourself the same question: Am I beautiful?
And you look back at yourself saying: I am but…
I wish I had bigger eyes, No... No a smaller nose and maybe I would look better with fuller lips!
You look again and you get your makeup kit trying to change the beautiful "You" but wait!
she says: “Every woman is beautiful and makeup is here to enhance her beauty.”
She is the one who changed our wrong perception of beauty. She is a person that believes in the power of natural beauty and the philosophy that "less is more". She is the person who believed in herself and trusted that she will reach success. She is the beautiful Hala Ajam.
Hala Ajam ,the Lebanese professional makeup artist and beauty blogger, studied makeup in Beirut and Hollywood. With her specialization in makeup for photography, TV and movies, she worked in fashion photography studios in LA,California, prior to moving back to Beirut. Huge number of celebrities in LA and Lebanon had the chance to feel her brushes’ magic. We mention: the adorable Claudia Schiffer ,Shirine Abed Wahab, Haifa wehbi, and Nawal Zoughby.
She worked with Elie Saab, the international Fashion designer, and with Bassam Fattouh and Fady Kataya in the campaign "Together for Natural Beauty ".
Recently, she got involved in the "Pinkstands4" breast cancer awareness campaign. The Timeout Magazine had included her name among the 40 Lebanese who made the capital great.
On October 13, 2014, we had the chance to meet,Hala, the natural, honest and lovely person. We were asked to prepare questions and we got the chance to know their answers during the social media class.
For me, I had the curiosity to know how she defines beauty. I thought she was going to give me standards but she was totally convinced by replying : “Beauty is being satisfied, is being happy with who you are.”
For her, makeup definitely reflects the personality of the woman because she wants women to look like the best versions of themselves, without being influenced by something that goes against their real identity.
Each woman has her own personality and Hala gets to deal with variety of people. When she was asked about her way in dealing with clients that ask for makeup different from her preferable style she said: “I am there to satisfy my client but using my own technique.”
As we continued our discussion with her, a friend of mine asked her about the obstacles she faced during her journey she said : "Jealousy". And she succeeded to overcome people that were trying to put her down. Why? Because she is full of confidence.
She advises the future makeup artists to Believe in themselves if they want to succeed.
Today, when I ask myself the same question while looking at the mirror, I remember the interview we had and I say in a louder more confident voice: Yes! I am Beautiful because I am satisfied!
