i think you're really on point about harry having enough with his gross media depiction and therefore actively fighting the closet, esp at the shows with his whole gender bending... you had an anon about other people like darren criss who have to tone down their flamboyancy, but it seems it's a common trend- when he's out of LA and his publicist isn't with him, he's gone full on camp and it's amazing. this shit really sucks but at least these boys are doing their best, within the ~realms~

It’s so painfully obvious how much Harry despises the media image created for him, the expression on his face when asked about his womanising reputation speaks volumes

Can you imagine the feeling of having that many people have this twisted perception of you that is so far from your actual real life persona? I think the increase of the gender bending tendencies we’ve seen from him lately is a combination of self-expression and a way for him to actively fight his closet. But the thing that really bothers me is that despite Harry doing everything within his limited power to prove his media image wrong, people still choose to believe in this distorted perception of him.

If he takes his alleged girlfriend (Kendall) to a gay bar for one of their dates then that’s completely ignored and brushed under the rug.

Him using Twitter to drop hints about his sexuality through song lyrics, “frog in a unicorn ski jacket”, “we don’t need no piece of paper..”, “gown is on”, talking about sparkling butt plugs, complimenting men on their looks, etc. is just him being confident in his heterosexuality.

If he continuously shows support for the gay community by wearing equality shirts, supports LBTG+ art, shouting “Happy Pride!” then that’s just him being an openminded person.

If he does something on stage that is traditionally coded feminine he is just being “goofy” and “silly” and definitely not deliberately challenging gender norms.

On multiple occasions he has expressed his distaste for objectification of women yet people still believe he sleeps with models left and right and hooks up with 410 women a year

So fucking much points to him currently being in a long-term committed relationship with another male yet this reality clashes with his media image therefore it can’t possibly be true

So bless Harry for sticking up for himself in the only way he can, despite his management dragging his media image through the dirt. His methods of doing so might be incredibly limited but at least he’s doing the best he can with what he’s got.

Sure, the guy that has been subject of gay rumours for four years with his bandmate -with whom he stopped interacting because of said rumours, by the way-, who has supported the LGBTQ+ community day in and day out for two solid years, who has consistently thrown shade at his own sexuality via social media and his actions on stage, and who has shattered gendered norms a million times, says in the same interview that his bum “is content”, -after acting confused with a question about it-, stifles a laugh and makes cutting signs when asked about WHAT HE SUCKS AT and says that being female is “not that important” in the context of a “date” and you pick all those things separately and find excuses for each one.

For once can you people look at the whole picture? Of course he was being sarcastic, I do think it’s important for him if the person he dates is female or not… given that I don’t think he LIKES FEMALES AT ALL -and his “date” is very much a boy-, he WAS THROWING SHADE.

If they admit that Lance is Bi and had a crush on Keith but things didn’t work out and make Lance end up with Allura, I’ll happily take it.(As long as they write it good too) Will I be upset, no.
