☯ : Do they believe for every darkness there is a lightness? If not, why?
Absolutely not, but he does believe that there is more light than dark in the world if everyone plays their part. Growing up poor Robin encountered a great deal of unfairness and injustice—both to himself and to those he loved—but at the same time he’s seen his community come together to help those in need, or even people they’ve never met before, but who they could sympathize with after being in a similar situation.
He’s seen businessmen berate waitresses and leave a penny for her trouble, and he’s seen a poor family notice that she was having a tough time and give her an extra big tip, even if it was proportionally more important to them. He’s seen police officers on the news killing innocent civilians, and he’s seen communities coming together to support the financial hardships of the victims’ families in their time of need. He’s seen a banker walk by hungry homeless without a second glance, and he’s seen the homeless person give all of his money for that day to someone else who seemed like they needed help too.
So, while he believes that there are truly dark people out there, he believes in an all-encompassing lightness of humanity, and he strives to work towards it. And if it means shrouding some lightness with dark crimes, so be it.
