Its Blitz from the past, a few years after a fire. A time when he hadn't yet settled into life and lived somewhere and somehow. I have headcannon that after living on the streets for a while, his home became a stolen van

And its time when he tried different things in life, self-harm could exist to. But! I dont think that he wanted to die that way, because if he did he would already do it, because there is no one to stop him that days. I think he could do it as a form of self punishment/ way to feel better through pain. And i dont think he would do it now, because he already settled into life and gave up most bad habits to be better person and for his daughter (except for smoking)
