As the World Caves In by Matt Maltese

A song about clinging to each other within the end of the world. The lyrics often refer to the stress of being the head of a country. The destruction of the world is brought on by the two people in the song themselves, a demise of their own doing. They paint nails of a man and put suits on a woman, in the face of the end they begin to ignore what society expects of them as leaders. Helpless to the atom bomb falling despite it falling by their command. This song implies a romantic relationship with Slime.

You are a mess, self-esteem low and thoughts dark. What a catch you are, you say. Who would truly want to be with me? The other person also has lost hope for themselves, and the singer is unable to make them happy. The song mentions a suicide of a singer's friend right before he died himself, just after doing a duet together. In fact, the suicides of many musicians are mentioned throughout the song, which the singer relates to himself and his own relationships and self. A medley of his own songs plays behind him, reprising further dark thoughts and troubles, like they can never be gotten rid of.

Your mental state was at an all time low, and Slime's was as well. Your relationship was most likely not well at this time, and in some way you had both given up on yourselves and each other. This could relate to the ending of the Las Nevadas arc, and describe your mental state after losing Slime's love.
