Friends,
It's Giving Tuesday! And I wanted to let you know about an amazing organization. Founded in honor of my dear late uncle’s legacy, FUNSEPA is an innovation driven non-profit that is improving education for the neediest children in Guatemala through the power of technology. Few organizations in the world can claim to have equipped over 5% of a nation’s schools with computers and trained over 50% of its public-school teachers in the use of technology.
I’m writing today because TODAY is “Giving Tuesday," the world-recognized day for donating to your favorite non-profit (or two!). I humbly ask that you consider joining me and La Selva in donating to this cause and spreading the good word. FUNSEPA has a small overhead which is entirely covered by our founders, meaning every dollar you donate goes STRAIGHT TO KIDS IN NEED! And your contribution is tax deductible too.
Please watch the “Giving Tuesday” video. If you believe in the power of technology to affect change, please share it. Their 2016 goal is to install computers in public schools for over 250,000 kids. But they can only do it with the help of our friends.
To donate on Giving Tuesday follow this 3 step process.
Step 1: On Tuesday, December 1, 2015 please copy and paste our Giving Tuesday Campaign Video link on your Facebook and/or Twitter page. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnJpn437bkA).
Step 2: On the comment box below it please type in “#donate” and the dollar amount you wish to donate. Example “#donate $100”
Step 3: You will receive a safe, one-time, 5 minute form that will take your payment information and you are done.
OR - You make a quick credit card donation here:
https://funsepa.org/cms/en/donate/
I hope you will join us in the spirit of the holidays and make a donation today - no matter how small. Thank you for your generosity,
Celina Paiz

Set on a hilltop, like a colorful beacon over the city, is the cemetery in Chichicastenango. As I walk through, I get a glimpse into a distinctly different understanding of death. Often times, Mayan families burn offerings and gather to eat meals in this sacred space. It’s almost festive. I can’t help but get the sense that the past and present find common ground here.
