i made a twitter thread of photocard info and thought i should share here too so here you go!!

this all started because i realized different shinies had different patterns on them and then @subwaymademecry pointed out some photos seem to always be shiny, so we did some investigation and here’s what we figured out:

general photocard info: there are 55 cards available to collect (ty @iiworldtour for the graphic!). there are vip card packages that come in the vip merch bag that guarantee one shiny, and regular packages available for purchase that don’t guarantee a shiny. the regular card backs are dark blue:

shinies: so the “guaranteed shiny” in the vip photocard pack can be one of 10 photocards! these particular photos/poses will always be shiny & there’s not a shiny version of every card (ex: dan’s butt will never be shiny and rawr hoodies will always be a shiny card)

let’s break these 10 shinies down into categories:

- 6/10 of these cards are holographic

- 3/10 of these cards are chrome

- 1/10 is the golden pig

all of the shiny cards have a special back on them! holographics are light blue, chromes are silver (reflect rainbow) & pig is gold ofc!

i believe that everything above is true for all existing photocards no matter what country they were manufactured in! as we know, there’s different packaging/dimensions for the eu & us cards we’ve seen. we also believe that the coating on the holographic cards is different!

european photocards: all of the holographic cards in the eu seem to have the same pattern reflected back! it’s got this sparkle/star shape to it and should be on the front & back of every holographic card!

USA/CA: in us/ca, we’ve determined that every holographic card has its own unique coating to it (some of these coatings are only visible or easier to see by taking a flash photo or holding to light!)

subway coined terms for each type of holographic coating so let’s look at each of them!

• starting with the solo phil holographic: his coating reflects a heart holo pattern!

• next up is cowboy dan and he has a small dots holo pattern!

• this smiley joint photo has an all over holo pattern! (this one is sooo hard to see in a still image or even just with your eye, it’s more like a rainbow sheen without any reflective shapes like the other ones)

• we have the joint cowboy holographic, which a confetti holo pattern on it!

• the joint tour trailer fits has a star holo pattern that reflects back

• lastly, and everyone’s fav, rawr hoodies, has a bigger dots holo pattern

so that’s all the info we know about the photocards currently! we don’t know the chance of pulling any of the cards, but we assume the pig is the most rare shiny, followed by the chromes, and then the holographics based on the frequency of pulls.

we have yet to see whether au/nz or the uk will have their own manufacturer for the photocards so that may throw more types of holographic coatings in the mix here but i’ll keep this updated as we learn more!
