I think a lot of writers might benefit from giving themselves permission to get weird with format.
Use second person, drop classic rising action and climax format, write backwards, just sit in a moment, tell all you want and refuse to show, make an entire book that’s just one run on sentence, reject tropes, use all tropes, cliche yourself to death, produce something that’s completely gibberish. Break all the rules of marketability. Become ungovernable.
Write a story that just takes place inside one pathetic little person’s head. Do it. It’s enrichment in your enclosure.
Do the writer’s equivalent of playing with finger paints. Do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it
It’s the middle of the night and I should be sleeping but listen. Listen. Just get weird with it. Open your soul up a little bit. Like actually don’t worry about it being palatable. I’m serious. Get weirder. Get weirder right now. I’m demanding that you get weirder right now. It’s not your responsibility to make your reader feel good. It’s your job to make art, goddamnit. Make art. Make weird art. Open up your third eye and eat an entire cheesecake.
Have gymmed and showered and now i just need to actually do my work... hmm. Maybe a little nap first...?

Hey y'all, reporting to you live from the scene of my Ancient Greek homework. Ngl I feel fairly awful today, the disc in my back has gone a bit out of place again and I have some kind of eye infection?? As well as the last remnants of a cold. Lovely stuff.
Anyways it's Burns Night today (yay!) and I'm meant to be singing various Burns songs at a local café later this afternoon and into the evening, but I am so overwhelmed by my homework and general lack of wellness that I'm not too sure about it. Maybe I'll have a nap and then decide.
I really worry that I have bitten off more than I can chew this semester, and it's sort of giving me that horrible drowning feeling that I had while at Oxford, especially since I am currently feeling unwell and that adds to it. But! I am going to try and persevere! It's difficult to learn new languages at 25, especially when you're learning them in a second language to begin with, but I want to keep going as far as I can.
bored and in pain soo: new tag game!
what were the last books you borrowed from a library?
no pressure @white-monsters-and-jotters @inbetweencoffees @coconut-rat @lil-opossum-freak @neutr1no @joeymac09 @imnotafraidtodisappear + anyone who wants to join!
Oooh interesting stuff is happening!
The last book I borrowed from the library is A Writers Reference, 7th edition
(This is a reminder to myself to either extend how long I can borrow the book or to return it in time)
tagging: @o2studies @frenchiepal @lastrosebloom @snoopyreadsliterature @kraro-school-life @goose-the-corvid @nanthegirl (no pressure!:) )
Ooh I've been tagged! I believe Le Petit Robert Dictionnaire Bilingue Français/Anglais for my exams was my last one, but I've been consulting the Latin/French dictionaries at the médiatheque as well without borrowing them :)

If you can afford it please check out THIS gofundme to help a person in need of funds for medical expenses. Every dollar counts.
That would include doctor visits and consultations, expensive blood and similar tests (even a few hundred to a few thousand dollars each), physiotherapy and medical equipment such as an active lightweight wheelchair with push assist that may cost from $5k to $12k.
People with connective tissue disorders are often severely disabled, so medical attention, accommodations and treatment are necessary to help them be independent and to manage their symptoms. It causes joint hypermobility, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, skin fragility and fragility of blood vessels. Many people with such problems don't heal well, have a lot of additional disorders, symptoms and may have additionally a lot of autoimmune issues and people who are immunocompromised may get sick easily, often and for long stretches of time compared to a healthy person. A simple flu infection that should disappear within a few days to a week may last even 2 months or longer.
Im also looking for tips how to improve the reach of the fundraiser.
If youre unable to donate, please share this post.
Im adding the link again if the hyperlink doesnt

here's my cat, thank you for your attention
there has been an update about my ER visit from October, the owed amount got increased from the original 795$ (after "uninsured discount") to currently 4751.36$ discounted from 13575.32$.
i will be trying my best to dispute it (especially the pregnancy test done anyways after being asked if im pregnant or if there's any chance that I'm pregnant and the 5th level category)
I tried applying for an Emergency Medicare during the Shutdown to try getting the original amount covered, but was denied because I'm not a citizen and I was only visiting on ESTA.
Any help is welcomed! even a simple reblog to help with the visibility! I you can, DONATE HERE.
The donations are secured, but if you do not want to donate but still want to help i have an amazon wishlist with some medical equipment (for example for physiotherapy at home) and accesibility related items that are always useful

Sémiologie de Barthes et Grec Ancien de Xénephon.
I have a cold at the moment, and working in and out of four languages (English, French, Ancient Greek and Latin) is definitely not helping the brain fog that's come along with it. Oh well. Gonna make dinner and study for a while longer, and then I get to call my family and my partner this evening! Reward time!
I'm taking something like 42 credits this semester (I'm meant to take 24) so it's a lot of work, and I'm taking advanced courses too, but I know that if I focus on this my French will improve extraordinarily, and my Latin and Ancient Greek will too. It's all gonna be worth it if I just keep going, I know it.
when i’m sad i like to think about little prehistoric toddlers tagging along with the adults who are foraging and getting really excited over a Cool Rock or Big Leaf and handing it to a parent to put in the baskets with the Actual Food and the parents having to carry around all their baby’s little Treasures the way modern parents end up with acorns and flowers in their pockets after a trip to the park
Ciao all
Currently 4.40 am.
I've been having some issues with sleeping recently. I think it's a mix of things, and being ill at the moment certainly doesn't help. I keep waking up around 1pm and not getting off to sleep until 3 to 5 am. It's miserable. There are some upsides though! Through being unable to sleep I have been listening to a playlist of classical music tonight, some of which brought me to tears. I want to go to more concerts. The rain is drumming on my skylights and I have opened a side window for some cool night air. I've done my washing up that's been plaguing me (I find it very useful to invite people over, so I have to clean and tidy, but then after they go I need to wash up the glasses and dishes used in having them over, which takes me a while to get around to sometimes).
I have a fair amount of homework due this coming week, and I've only started on some of it (I'm taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year courses this semester, all in French ofc, so I have more homework than last semester and more complex subject matter). I have the rest of..well, today, though, and although almost everything is shut on Sundays (including the libraries) I might be able to find a café. I ran into a friend I made last semester today by surprise, and we had a really nice catch up! I offered to lend him my guitar and he said we should catch up more over a coffee soon, which would be lovely :)
Something I'd like to do is turn this awkward little corner in my flat into a reading nook by setting up a light and little side table there. It's super comfy, it just needs some light and then I will have somewhere cosy to be other than my bed, which is not good to use for non sleeping activities. This might be contributing to the whole insomnia thing. The light bulb in my entryway has stopped working, so I need to contact my landlord about that, and also ask about my partner coming to stay in February (his flights are booked!!) Lots to do, lots to do.
Feeling a bit sleeper after having gotten this all out and done some chores. When I'm home in London with my love I like to make sure the flat is put to bed before I go to bed myself. I sleep well knowing the flat is all clean and tidy for the next day, that I have a nice clean kitchen to make breakfast in and a tidy neat living room to eat it in :) I don't do that so much here, because I don't have a dishwasher and washing by hand is one of those tasks my brain just HATES, and I don't have a nice proper place for everything here the way I do at home. So everything can't be in its place if it doesn't have one, you see. I'm improving that, though. Slowly but steadily. I get very tired living on my own and processing everything in a different language all day but I am going to make an effort to make future me's life easier, because I am worth the effort it takes to prepare a good home environment for myself. Yes. Good things :)
Anyways this is turning delirious and it has just turned 5 am, so a good time to sign off I think.
Ciao for now all xx
GUYS I am BACK in FRANCE I cannot sleep despite travelling 5.30am to 7pm please someone send help

Anyone notice how it's all a woven tapestry
The word text comes from textile. A story is a piece of fabric. We can wear our words. We are all interwoven, and have been for a very long time :)
This is such a funny scam. THE Kathy Bates??? Girl.

Latin exam in 45 mins and I got 4 hours of sleep 😍😍😍
It's okay we got this it's me and my dictionnaire bilingue against the world
Talked to my prof after about possibly taking both Greek and Latin next semester and he said that they fall at the same time but that I could be in the Latin class for the year above me due to my background in Classics! Yay!
Also the exam went well I think, answered everything even if my last response was a bit tangential (I've missed 4/6 of these classes so while I answered the question I don't think I echoes back what was taught which is usually the aim of the exam. Oh well!)
