so you know in sophomore year after Ragh sleeps w Fathethriel he's like "you know when you finish and you're just like GET AWAY FROM ME"?

okay so. I think Ragh and Gorgug (and perhaps Fabian too, but probably a couple years later and/or to a lesser extent) would be great (platonic) cuddle buddies. so they're super used to being all close and snuggled up to each other.

so maybe the first time they hook up (possibly drunk or at least very spontaeously, maybe at a party) Ragh notices that for the first time... he really doesn't mind leaning on and nuzzling against Gorgug (or Fabian) right after. and they cuddle all nught and he wakes up w them still all snuggled up against his side and he's like huh... this is nice.

and so maybe he isn't like /technically/ demisexual, but both from this whole situation and the fact that things got SO weird w Fathethriel (and probably w a few more guys after that) Ragh is just like okay... I have GOT to stop hooking up with strangers no matter HOW hot they are. so he's more likely to prefer a friends w benefits situation. and if that HAPPENS to lead to a romantic relationship then, well... good for them

shane is literally a Boyfriend guys he’s stocking the cottage full of stuff he’d never eat bc they’re ilya’s favourite snacks and he’s driving his passenger princess around and carrying ilya’s bags and asking what he wants for dinner and waking him up in the middle of the night to be like ‘hey here’s how we can be together forever until we are old and wrinkly. do u agree yes or yes’

and even before that he’s constantly checking if his baby is okay and he’s sitting in that stairwell cuddling ilya’s jacket and he’s so desperate to hold ilya’s hand when he’s off his head on painkillers. he’s rereading old texts. he’s got his phone in his hand and he’s texting ilya when he’s literally just got off the ice after winning the cup again and that’s years before they’re even together. he’s inviting ilya to the cottage because he gets two weeks off a year and he wants to spend them both with his favourite person

he’s a loverboy! he’s spent so so long wanting to be able to connect with ilya like this and now he finally can! he was born to play hockey but also to be ilya’s boyfriend!

I'm glad the facial expressions are coming across accurately! It can feel so absurd to say gosh I hope the torment maze removes some fire and rusty nails soon, but alas, sometimes that's all one can do.

Also sometimes you and your friend are both in Torment Mazes, different ones, and while yours is way hotter, you know that your friend's has just so many more rusty nails than yours does, and so you and your friend vent to one another about your respective Torment Mazes and sympathize in a way that makes very clear that it's not a Torment Maze Olympics, there is no competitive element about whose Torment Maze is worse, and you both just genuinely wish the other to be freed from their Torment Maze as soon as humanly possible

I love episodes of Game Changer where the only way to win is by learning & the only way to learn is by playing. With some episodes, like Don't Wake Standards & Practices, the overall flow of the game becomes pretty apparent pretty quickly, & also there's some surprises along the way. But then there's episodes like Count the Rice, Deja Vu, or Bingo, where the basic conceit of what the game even is is an ongoing mystery. I love that stuff.

thinking about Data & Deanna Troi, who may look like polar opposites on the surface (one feels everything, the other feels nothing), but they both recognize in the other the experience of being unique and surrounded by people who feel regular emotions. yes i say unique for Deanna too because she does not experience telepathy like her fully Betazoid peers either, she's the only human-betazoid she knows, just like Data doesn't know anyone with a brain built like his, not even Lore. and the way Deanna and Data try to understand each other is different from the way their human crewmates try to understand either one of them. the care and respect with which they both approach the other's perception of the world is what makes their friendship so special to me.
