It's often the most male-catered to and even misogynistic media that feature some of the deepest and borderline homoerotic relationships between men. But that is to be expected. People think that patriarchy enabling homoaffectionate relationships between men is a bug, but it's actually a feature. True love can only come from a place of respect, and men often don't respect nor esteem women. They don't see women as capable of intellect, or strength, or imagination or even humanity. Those attributes are reserved to men. Which is why men's true love is often reserved for other men while women are just props to them. That's why it's easier for a lot of male writers to create stories about supposedly heterosexual male characters having the most world-shattering (accidentally romantic) bonds with other men, but not with women that they're canonically attracted to. It's because they can't fathom their male protagonist being so deeply affected by a woman's character, since women are to be lusted for and kept as props for their little domestic fantasies but never truly respected or admired as individuals. The ancient greeks were more honest about this stuff because they understood that patriarchy and male/male affection went hand in hand.
let me get what I want please please please
wait. turns out that sometimes even when I get what I want it’s not enough
Miserable people are so mean and others are just weirdly surface level annoying and only care about partying but say they don’t or they only care about astrology . Is anyone normal
critically acclaimed but the critics are me and my mutuals
you should really get comfortable believing in love and magic and whimsy or you’ll continue to live a half-life for the rest of the time you have on earth
when the author describes someone dying and you can just tell they’ve never actually died by the way it’s written
the bird fights its way out of the egg. awww. awwww. aw. the egg is the world So Cute. so so So cute.
big day for girls that had to come to terms with the fact that love will never fix your life or everything that’s fucked up in your head
Okay so
The cover is...giving. but that's mostly bc it's Zayn bc otherwise it's like...what were you thinking?
The songs are quite short? Noticed this first thing. Most of them are barely 3 mins long..? Wonder what's up w that
I liked 10/15 songs which isn't too bad but it's the fact that it's not 100% of the songs i like or even 99%-98% of the songs. Even 97% would've been less. C'mon like what is this. Looking back at icarus falls, nobody is listening, even room under the stairs for that matter. Mind of mine too but not quite bc now that album seems...not bad but almost nothing compared to icarus for example (but then to me No album is anything compared to icarus so...I guess that's a bit unfair. But he made me have these standards he should ensure that he upholds them every time! C'mon now!)
Not entirely related perhaps or maybe not directly related as a review but like. I felt he promoted this album a certain way. Actually two specific ways. And one of them did not really hold? Iykwim.
It Was giving 2016 at places and tbh that's not a good thing to me. Like yeah music was peaking that year but like we don't need 2016 scrapes in 2026 is what I mean
Mind of mine 2.0 oh I said I'm sure for that's the only way it could make sense
The lyrics could do w some help girl...
I felt there was a great deal of potential w the vibe/theme/style/energy he chose to work with especially knowing him it could've worked out nicely but idk what happened bc it lowkey didn't. The first two songs are completely different from the rest of the album and this is where the specific promotion is irking me. I won't get too much into it bc I don't think I can say it the way I want to rn so.
It could've been much much better, he did have alot of freshness and newness in this album as well which is what I mean when I say potential bc I loved those bits. But at times it also felt like some of it could be a bit basic or not optimal execution or maybe half-baked ideas. I noticed one song felt a bit messy by the end which I hope was not an accident bc if so then what are we doing.
Ykw at first listen I kinda couldn't figure it out entirely but I do really like it this time around. Maybe since it's the first time I'm listening to this in the order it was supposed to be listened to? W the whole album I mean. And it's the last song. It fits. It makes sense. Now. Here. I can feel it this way. Quite nice.
WHERE WERE THESE SONGS THE REST OF THE ALBUM WTF IS WRONG W YOU
