Silence, how can you be so loud? I hear you while I’m walking over the beach, in the breeze. I hear you in moments of pure solitude. I hear you at meters under the surface. I hear you, and I think to myself, The absence of sound is my favourite sound.
Annedi Bergsma (Silence, how can you be so loud?)
I looked the demon in the eye, and it was I. I was the person hunting myself. My sleepless nights, my daily terrors. It were my fears and my traumas, they had caught up to me. But instead of flinching away like I did in the past, I took a step forward. We were there, face to face, my demon and I, I and my demon. I opened my arms, and let it fill me, I felt every single thing, every terror I’ve faced in my life and although it was frightening, above all it was freeing. It was the biggest battle I’ve faced so far, looking myself in the eyes and being honest, dealing with what had happened to me and dealing with what it had done to me and then… accepting it. And once I did that, once I accepted it, the demon I faced smiled and just like that, a ray of light appeared, and it turned to dust.

Forever has always felt too long. Until I looked into your eyes and saw infinity and it seemed that forever would never be long enough.

More for you here, if you’d like :)
The promise of hope is enough to feel free. In times when we’re faced with uncertainty it can sometimes feel as if there is no way out, as if you’ll forever get stuck in this cycle of darkness. But humans are made to adapt, so we will adapt to this too. It’s hard, yes, but remember the good times and your loved ones. Keep the hope. Take this time to get closer to your soul, what does it say? It is as if the earth has been put on hold, to heal, to overcome what we broke. So maybe this is what we can get out of it too. Healing, growing, becoming. In the end there is a purpose for everything. And remember; this too will pass.

Love as an offering…
To love is not to possess the other person or to consume all their attention and love. To love is to offer the other person joy and a balm for their suffering. This capacity is what we have to learn to cultivate.
~Thich Nhat Hanh
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
