hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced because of israel’s genocidal actions this week. along with families being ripped apart and homes being destroyed, many people are left without any source of income — donations will go directly to those who are most in need of food and basic necessities for day to day living.

I get so angry hearing and reading about what's happening in Palestine right now. I don't even know what to do and it all feels hopeless 😔

The situation around Sheikh Jarrah should make everyone angry. For those of you who might not know what’ going on here’s a brief breakdown:

Indigenous Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah, for a very long time, have been fighting lengthy legal battles in Israeli courts against eviction orders which aim to replace these indigenous people with illegal Israeli settlers. 

On May 7th, the illegal Israeli settlers along with courts (an apparatus of Israel’s apartheid regime) have started a campaign to illegally take over the home’s of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah. These families were given until today (May 10th, 2021) to “reach an agreement” with the occupiers. This obviously prompted protests. The IDF has also brutally responded to these protests. Now the world is watching and global protests have started happening.

Some important things to note:

-Sheikh Jarrah belongs to the Palestinian families. It is part of the occupied Palestinian territory, and therefore any Israeli settler presence in it amounts to a war crime under international law. 

-There has been a mountain of UN Security Council resolutions demanding that Israel withdraw from East Jerusalem which Israel continues to ignore.

-This is ethnic cleansing

I know you feel hopeless but here’s what we can do:

-Support BDS (Boycott, Divestments, Sanctions) movements (What”s BDS?) Boycott Israeli products from their colonial settlements

-Understand whats happening in Palestine and the crimes of apartheid/persecution being committed by Israel. (Check out this great report by HRW on the situation) After getting an understanding. SPREAD AWARENESS. Especially in the US. This is key to combatting Evangelical propaganda and Israeli lobbyists. Do this through social media.

-Contact your local reps and pressure them to stop giving Israel military funding or any form of financial support. Fight against zionist lobbyists such as AIPAC or Christians United for Israel.

-Donate if you can. Here’s a few links. If you can add more (reputable) donation links to this, I ask that you please do.

a heem heem. so, as some of you may know, my roommates and i are getting fucked over by our property management company, so we've decided to just jump ship and move out somewhere else.

the three of us are all trans, and one of my roommates is currently unemployed due to the pandemic and still hasn't gotten her unemployment benefits, so we're all a little strapped for cash right now. we're asking for 3,000 dollars (of which we currently have $1,745) to cover all move in costs for a new apartment (i.e., application and administration fees, first month's rent, uhaul to move all our crap, etc.).

we're very lucky in that pennsylvania has all evictions suspended until june 30th, but the notice to quit was very obviously a poor attempt at a threat, so we just wanna get the hell out of dodge and any help would be appreciated thank you mwah.

gaunt fingers grasp tightly to his own knee. attempting to ground himself somewhat. his other hand over his mouth. clinging to skin. the feeling of intrusive eyes causing his current affliction to worsen. it felt as though his entire ribcage may cave in. like he was going to hurl up all of his guts. he couldn't breath. hunching forward now in attempt to force breath into his damaged lungs. by now, he'd gotten the attention of the whole car. dozens of eyes fixated directly on him. it was moments like this when arthur wished he really didn't exist. but gradually he does as the other says. hacking and coughing, attempting to break up the laughter. to make it stop. just stop. 

yet it continues on. tears streaming down calloused skin. abuse worn. the whispering and the staring was preventing any hope the man had of stopping his own laughter. their words were muffled, nothing arthur could make out. it sounded like they were talking gibberish. "i can't-" he choked out through hallow breaths. his whole body trembling now. anxiety and pain. his thoughts flicker before disappearing and forming anew in a fleeting manner. nothing lingers. it causes him to go into a deeper panic. and so, staggering upwards, he grabs the bag of medication he'd left lying on the floor between his feet and stumbles his way towards an exit. he couldn't stay on the train. he couldn't stay in that environment. it would make it worse. so as the train slowed to a halt, he makes his way onto an unfamiliar platform and to a bench adjacent to the tracks. his legs were weak from exertion, he needed to sit. try and focus himself. calm down.

now that his thoughts became more lucid, he realized how strange it had been to feel him touch him in a way without ill intent. rare was it that he made an effort to actually help. glimpsing upwards, he watches him approach. his breathing back to normal. the laughter had stopped. he was tired. "thank you-" he spoke within a whisper, addressing the clown, not wishing anybody else to hear him.

agony swarmed him. his ears were ringing, his head was fuzzy, his vision was blurry. he laid motionless, as though he was in shock. it was getting worse. this was the third time this week he’d been attacked. it seemed his mind wished to save him from anymore torment. his surroundings had faded into darkness. he was elsewhere. far away from the affliction of his mere existence. 𝚒𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚋𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎. everything was nicer. calmer. clearer. correct. 

he hardly reacts to the sounds of the bustling subway. the ruckus of trains speeding past, the chaos of the crowds. it was as though he was invisible to them. despite his strange outfit, and how he was clearly in some form of 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚜. it was only when the other spoke that he began to stir. he repeats after him, in a tone riddled with confusion.   “  help?  “ in his dream he moves to sit upright. looking around frantically for the source of this voice. and then he woke.

everything began to take form again. the stranger before him melting into reality. the question is repeated again and again. like the echo of a memory long forgotten. distant. calling out his name. he focuses on that question, giving a quick glace to the others hand. focus arthur. don’t disappear again. his voice is weak, rasped with unsteadiness. “  three.  “ he sounded uncertain, and yet the word came out somewhat monotonous. he wasn’t completely back yet. he was answering without really thinking. without really being present.

the words repeated relentlessly through his mind. like a cruel, derisive echo. 𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚗'𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚢? well aren’t you, arthur? getting to leave this place, this ATROCIOUS place. it was a thing of prosperity. and yet, he wasn’t so sure if he was really getting better. if what all the doctors said was true. he felt just as miserable as before. he was sure that his absence wouldn’t be a long one. that he would be sent right back within a few weeks.         arthur wondered that perhaps he was a nothing more than a BURDEN to them. something they wished to be rid of, whether he was truly getting better or not. why would they care if he had another 𝚋𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚔𝚍𝚘𝚠𝚗? as long as he was out of their hands -
