Originally built as a state school for the mentally challenged, this complex of 45 buildings, connected by 1.5 miles of underground tunnels, were left to rot in 2002. The open doors and windows didn't tempt me as much as I thought they would; even from the outside, the feeling of sadness and loneliness kept me from going in. I wish I could blame the chill that went down my spine on the weather.

Now heavily patrolled because of arsonists, we got out just before we were asked to leave.

Peeling paint, falling ceiling tiles, rippled floors and gorgeous architecture galore in this eerie empty school built in the early 1930’s. It was wonderful to get inside and explore a little of what’s left before this beauty is no longer.

Rehab Clinic Location Undisclosed

Pleasure Beach Bridgeport, CT

After the only bridge to Pleasure Beach burned in 1996, residents vacated, leaving behind their belongings, and the town was left abandoned. Since then, the decrepit cottages have been demolished, and all that is left is a vandalized theater, an empty restaurant, and the remnants of a fallen carousel. This was one of my favorite explorations to date.

Boston Herald Boston, MA

Earlier this year, I received an amazing opportunity to go on a photo shoot in the old, abandoned Boston Herald. What a beautifully eerie place to experience through a lens, especially having visited when I was much younger and my father was an art director there. It looks much different than I remember, and to those who have spent time there, I am sure you will feel the same. Walking through the empty halls, I imagined the air with a buzz, bustling and surging with new ideas from great minds; an interesting thought as I looked at the rotting walls and puddled floors around me. It was an honor to see this iconic Boston building in a different light. I wish it could stay. More photos to come. Enjoy.
