Dipping my toes back into Tumblr with some fashion opinion:

Catherine, please forget Alessandra Rich clothing exists. And if you can’t do that, please stop buying new pieces from the brand. There’s only so many 80s dresses a person needs.

It’s kinda dumb that she had to purchase a new dress and new shoes when she has a dress and shoes that are so nearly identical to what she wore that royal watchers misidentified both in the beginning.

I could like the neck up in another context. The hat, hair, and Diana’s pearl earrings all look great.

This look pisses me off because it was so unnecessary. Rewearing the nearly identical pieces or even a different but better (and maybe more modern) look are options.

Coming off Trooping which was a home run hit for me in terms of messaging and a strong look, this was such a miss IMO.

Nobel King’s Banquet Fashion Opinions:

Queen Silvia: The gown is fine and very in Silvia’s wheelhouse. I wish she opted for more of a drop earrings.

Crown Princess Victoria: I’m a little done with the green Elie Saab Kermit dress. I do love the Emerald demi-parure. I would’ve preferred her green gown from the Italian state visit. Also think the Connaught or large Cut Steel tiaras would’ve been better options.

Princess Sofia: I make no apologies I LOVE THIS!!! Sofia has a very boho flair to her style and this is a brilliant execution of that. That color of orange looks gorgeous on her and the proportions of the ombré are great. My only wish (I’m begging at this point) is a different tiara. I still say she should give the small Cut Steel tiara another go as it works so well for her.

Princess Christina: Again, I just love her and her energy. Only request is any tiara besides the four button. Amethyst tiara would’ve been awesome with the gown!

A random fantasy (never gonna happen) I have: Victoria wears the gown and full look from tonight for the annual photo she does for the Pink Ribbon Campaign. The tagline “Tiara, jewels, and gown not included.”

Some early Nobel opinions:

Queen Silvia: I like that she’s breaking up her predictable tiara patterns. The tiara shape is tough to wear but I love amethysts.

Crown Princess Victoria: Is it just me or does her dress give me vibes of Kate’s blue Philippa Lepley gown? Still deciding how I feel about the color but the silhouette is great. She chose the best setting of not one of my fave tiaras and it does look really good.

Princess Sofia: I love the color of the gown and the flowers look exquisite. Still hoping for anything but her wedding tiara tomorrow but I love aquamarines so very torn.

Princess Christina: honestly just love having her and her positive energy in the room. She is wearing one of my faves of the Swedish collection, the Connaught tiara.

Love: Everything from the neck up. Hair, makeup, jewels…all works for me.

Hate: the dress. The color is asking to be memed (she’s practically wearing a green screen) and the proportions and fit aren’t right IMO.

Also: hoping the earrings are either rented or mis IDed. Not loving the idea of another new piece of uber expensive jewelry with the current economy. Would’ve much rather seen another outing for the Queen’s emerald tassel earrings.

My random pick before was her green McQueen gown and I stand by that. Would’ve been better than this IMO and would’ve looked awesome with the choker.

Obviously not the most important thing happening but I had to point out that while Meghan’s hat may be new to us I found it and it is past season Stephen Jones (her go-to milliner). Based on the season she’s likely owned it for at least a year and a half or 2 years.

So I liked Meghan’s look today but I do have one thing I would’ve tweaked to just add that perfect finishing touch. Swap out the earrings for Diana’s butterfly earrings. I think it would’ve been a great touch both sentimentally but also fashion wise. That is one take I have maintained for a while....not a big fan of Birks jewelry.

Love your suggestions @hrhstateofgrace but will add even a non-suede nude pump would’ve been a step up from this. I think white would’ve been my preferred. But the combination of nude and suede with this look is epically terrible IMO.

From a sports fan, crowd sentiment is so hard to gauge because video misses a lot and there can be one or two people who taint the image for someone on the ground.

From all the reports it seems like the reaction to Harry and Meghan was overwhelming cheers with a few boos. But the boos aren’t newsworthy IMO. It’s like finding 3 tweets about something and writing an article about “people are saying”. No 3 idiots are saying and that’s hardly news. Same here. And further it’s not a reason to be unprofessional assholes on Twitter.

A lot of people can and did expect the outcome. We can still roll our eyes at the press release or spin. Those aren’t mutually exclusive. Seeing a lot of reaction to people’s reactions that I think misses that point.

To be clear:

Nothing against Virginia here. Andrew was never going to let this get to trial, and she more than deserves any settlement she got.

I just hate these PR spin press releases. It was always going to happen, but I still hate it and I can still call out what BS it is.

Also a question we might never know the answer to and one of the current legal hot topics in sex abuse civil litigation. To what extent was an NDA a part of this settlement? To be clear there was an NDA that at least prevents any party from disclosing the amount of the settlement. That’s standard, and honestly I think isn’t objectionable. But Epstein’s previous settlements and many settlements for this type of case in years past involve NDAs that prevent a survivor from continuing to tell their story. It’s highly controversial and as a result not always a given in cases in recent years.

All this to say that I hope if Virginia wants to continue to tell her story, she is allowed to and this NDA doesn’t preclude it.

hi friends. I know I don’t post here as much as I should but I just need to get this out somewhere. I’m struggling today and I don’t know why.

This is the first time in a long time it’s been like this. Intensely dark thoughts out of nowhere and I don’t know why or what to do. I’m just scared and I needed say it. Could use some good vibes.
