Children, in the olden days fanfiction was written on a typewriter, copied and sent by snail mail. Getting one one of those letters from across the world was every bit as exciting as getting a notification that your favorite writer posted a new fic.

The precedent line is especially amusing when you bear in mind that “A Fragment Out of Time” is not only the first Star Trek slashfic to be published in a widely distributed magazine: it’s believed by some to be the first slashfic of any kind to be widely published.

Thank you so much, I was very happy and I'm sorry that this story isn't finished yet 🥲 I posted first chapters, driven by my excitement from the series, and then I realized this Myungha/Yeowoon/Sangwon story was bigger than I imagined at first and bigger than what I could write at that moment. So I tried to write down the rest of the chapters fully before posting them again. I kept rewriting outline completely 5 times and I can't post the next chapter cuz it all depends on the version of the fic I'll be going for in the end, and I still don't have it fully figured out x)

But your comment gave me kick to read through my drafts and wips again and I will give it another attempt to string the fic together coherently 🍀

I love kcd1 Hans so bad, guy who has never talked to another person in his life without the weight of his title so he only knows how to talk shit and because of that literally all of Rattay hates him and dreads the day he becomes the acting lord but also he likes to go hunting and he has no social skills when asking about Skalitz to freshly traumatized Henry who he just fought not only in a brawl but once in a duel and in archery and then they bonded after almost being killed by cumans and now he wants to bond with this guy but what's the only way he knows how to socialize? Get drunk in the bath and almost get drowned by a jealous dude who thinks he is sleeping with his girlfriend

The fact that the first impression you get of him being mean to Henry and then you get to the hunting trip mission and he becomes actually nice is really special to me, that's my best friend Hans Capon who is bad at socializing and i love him dearly

honestly one of my favorite things about fanfic is when you can see the canon influences come out in really subtle ways. like a canon line thats mentioned once as a throwaway is suddenly the entire premise for a fic or it influences the characterization or something. its just so cool to see how people weave their ideas around a source material, especially if its not a detail i'd thought about before
