I kinda like this, but it also feels kinda scuffed. Either way, I adore the actual skin I made that it's based on.
Too bad heib is actually kinda mid </3 It's such a pretty species
Sneak peek of my little freak. His design might still change but I felt like posting this so whatever
Art development WILL happen, even if you think it seems impossible. So long as you practice and make the effort to improve, you will! I can testify from personal experience, as this piece here was from yesterday,
-and while it's not perfect, it's leagues better than where I was only a few years ago, when I was convinced that art was just "too hard" and that I would never develop further! A tidbit of personal advice is to try new things. Seriously. It might be uncomfortable, and you may not turn out liking it, but as with evolution, your artstyle is a lot of trial-and-error. Not everything you try will work, but if you want to improve, it's important not to let yourself stagnate in the waters of fear or complacency -could you imagine where we would be if the first single-celled organisms never mutated? I, for one, would never have learned that painting can look quite beautiful (and is, personally, an effective way to combat art-block) had I never taken a leap of faith and tried.
For reference, this other piece isn't quite three years old yet (4/17/2023). Still, the drastic change in quality between then and today was achieved through hours of practicing and studying the basics, even when I never believed I could make it to the proverbial greener pastures.
You may not like your art now, but if creating expressive visuals is something you want, don't give up! Art, like any discipline, takes time and effort -but if you can commit to it, it will be greatly rewarding.
Whenever I can't sketch something, I usually try to paint it :)
errrm sorry for not posting gang, have a drawing of my Roblox avatar

UUGHGH I'm cooking up some devious oc stuff and character design is HARD.
Yes, the side things on the head are cameras. They function as eyes.

My favorite bird, and one of my favorite animal species in general -the bearded vulture. I struggled to draw this one, and in my frustration, chose to paint it.
