Laurel is a kindhearted woman, always had been. When she was a baby, her parents tragically died in a car crash one stormy autumn night. Fortunately for her, her godparents were able to take her in and raise her as their own, eventually adopting baby Laurel.
Originally growing up in Greece, their family eventually moved to Wyoming when she was ten years old. Unfortunately for her, she had a hard time making friends at first. The kids would bully her for her accent, her looks, the fact that she had trouble speaking English; Just everything and anything about her, they would tease relentlessly. She was very depressed, causing her parents to find a therapist for her.
Fortunately, she was eventually able to make at least one friend. Then over time, she was able to make more and more. Whenever a new kid came to her school, she was always quick to befriend them. Never wanting them to end up feeling left out. Laurel was very much so the mom friend of her school, always ready to show and give love to anyone who needed it.
A few years past and eventually, she was a junior in high school. Despite a rocky start in America, things had began to become beautiful in her new home. Until⊠Francisco came into her life. Her fatherâs former roommate, the two men reunited and he eventually met his old friendâs family. Leading him to Laurel. Charming and suave, the two began to see each other in secret.
Very loving at first, Francisco eventually became⊠controlling. Eventually, he became violent. Whether spouting vile things to her or using his fists to make his point, it was very clear that the man didnât love her. Even forcing himself on her a few times. But unfortunately, he still had his charming and loving moments. Laurel was in love with him, while he was nothing more than a monster.
Eventually, Francisco ended things with Laurel, becoming bored with her. It wasnât until afterwards, she found out that he was married and had kids. She was devastated at the fact and hated herself deeply, falling back in a depressive state. Her salvation showed up months later in the form of her having the opportunity to spend her senior year studying in South Africa. She took it, finding happiness again.
After graduating high school, Laurel went to school in Denver for hospitality, history, and geography, majoring in them and also getting her teaching certificate. The girl continued with going on adventures, spending the first semester of her third year doing Semester at Sea and living on a boat for a couple of months, seeing the world and doing her studies She was able to find happiness through her love of adventure and travel. When she was twenty, she spent a few days in Las Vegas for New Years. While there, she ended up meeting her wife. A classic tale of meeting each other and having a Vegas wedding, the two woke up the next morning in confusion. However⊠They talked things over. And next thing you know, Laurel is sharing an apartment with her new wife, who is still a complete and utter stranger to her.
They decided to give each other a year. If things donât work out, theyâll get a divorce. Easy and done with. But if things do work out, theyâll stay together. Eventually, a year was up. And for the first time ever, Laurel found a love with someone that was real and warm and passionate. Over the next few years, she found herself falling more and more in love with her. When she gave birth to their daughter, Felicity, everything was becoming perfect. Well⊠Almost. Her post-partum depression soon kicked in and fucked things over with her PTSD from Francisco.
Laurel never told SofĂa about her mental health, not wanting her to worry and be a burden for her. She was so use to taking care of others, the idea of someone taking care of her⊠It made her skin crawl. However, things got worse when Laurel almost killed herself while her wife was out of the house. If it hadnât been for Felicityâs crying, having woken up from her nap, Laurel wouldnât have knocked out of it and realized what she was doing. She wouldnât be here right now.
Realizing what she almost done terrified her. Unfortunately, the woman still hadnât been sure how to tell her wife about it all. Instead, she made the worst mistake of her life: she separated from her and filed for divorce. Laurel thought that she was protecting her from herself and her mental issues, terrified of what she almost done and scared of what kind of effect that couldâve put on her and their daughter.
However, her wife fought tooth and nail to be able to save their marriage. Eventually, she finally confined in her about everything. She admitted that she was still in love with her and that she was trying to protect her, ashamed with herself over her mental health and for having suicidal thoughts. Eventually, they decided to move out of Denver to work on S.S. Nereid while they repair and give their relationship a fresh start.
Living onboard for three years now and with Felicity turning four, things are looking up for the little family. However, Laurel still feels as if she isnât good for her family and still struggles with her mental health. While she sees a therapist weekly, Laurel still feels as if sheâs a burden to her family and that they deserve better. The woman is so good at loving other people; She has no idea how to love herself, though. Only her wife and her therapist know her secrets, knows about her PTSD, her depression, her anxiety, her panic attacks, her nightmares, and her suicidal tendencies. While itâs been awhile since sheâs had an attempt, Laurelâs terrified of the day she might try again- and whether or not sheâll succeed this time.
âYou realize Iâm becoming incredibly jealous that those gyros are making you moan like that, right?â she teased. Being back in Greece... God, she missed it so much. She was born and raised here before moving to America when she was 10. Getting to be here with her family was very special. Getting to enjoy a lunch date with her wife while Felicity had a playdate was just another cherry on top. Laurel beamed before taking a bite of her pastitsio, moaning softly as the Greek lasagna melted in her mouth. âSo fucking good, wow. You know, Iâm still technically a Greek citizen. So is Lissy and for you, the process wouldnât be too difficult. If we ever get bored with the cruise life, we can always settle down here. Whatcha think?â

He nodded in understanding before tapping on hers, asking for his family. Looking up, she waved over the manâs wife and she quickly joined, leading him away from the bar. Laurel technically wasnât on the job currently but she found herself still wanting to do everything she could to ensure the passengerâs happiness while onboard. She glanced at Olivia and smiled warmly before looking back at the bartender. âPlace her next drink on my tab, please? And a perfect margarita for me.â She turned back to Olivia, keeping her distance but smilingly warmly. âAside from that, have you been enjoying the cruise? I grew up in Greece when I was a child, so if thereâs anywhere in particular you want to go to or find, I can help.â
The way she reacted was just hilarious to SofĂa, seeing her wife so naturally happy and content at the moment was really just the best feeling ever. They had worked so hard to get back to this, to feel settled and safe again. God, she would do anything and everything to stay like this forever, to continue to see Laurelâs smile and hear her laughter. She knew those years the two best friends had lived apart had been tough on both of them, and she was so happy that destiny and fate brought them back together again. âI swear everyone in this town has heard those three at least onceâ I donât know whoâs worse, those three or Natalia and Devin,â she laughed as she poured some water into a glass, pausing halfway through as she felt Laurelâs breath run down her neck which sent a shiver down her spine and made her eyes close. âMmhâ I think you could take Cleo, maybe not Nicola though baby⊠Not even I would fancy my chances against Sloane,â she smiles as she finishes the glass of water off, biting her bottom lip and letting out a low moan as her wife pulls her earlobe with her teeth. âItâs that new mango shower gel, I think,â she breathes out before turning in her arms with a smile and holding the glass of water out, putting it into Laurâs hand, eyes locking onto hers. âWater and food first, babygirl⊠I wouldnât want you passing out on me,â she smirks as the tip of her finger runs around the rim of the glass.Â
âOr Avery and Monroe- I constantly try to forget their little fun in the booth at Pride,â she jokingly shuddered with a giggle. Despite her jest, she truly was happy for all three couples, even for the couples they hadnât mentioned. Seeing others happy has always been something that made her happy in return. There was something incredible about seeing others take joy in life, to have found the person or people their heart sung for and whose heart(s) sung back. To be able to find that person whom you want to have a future with. Not everyone was lucky enough to have that. So when it does happen, itâs truly miraculous- and something that no one wants to ever lose. Smiling softly at her wife, the woman was relieved that she never stop fighting for her even when she was at her lowest point and her mind worked vehemently against her. She never wanted to let go of her; Sheâd only been trying to protect her from herself. Yet SofĂa just wrapped her in her arms the moment she learned the truth and told her that she loves her, that she would never stop loving her. That time had been so dark and being in her arms again had been a beacon of light. She promised never to become like that again. And by god, she was going to keep her word. âDâaw, but that would be the fun, challenging bit,â she giggled. She breathed her in once more, softly kissing her neck and humming. âMmmm, so so good... Then again, youâre always just so delicious.â Locking eyes, Laurel gave a little pout but took a sip of water and then smiling back at her. âOkay, daddy. Food and water first. And cuddles. And kisses, lots and lots of kisses. You have the best kisses ever.â
