A peice on the inside of an envelope. I'm very happy to have find use for and recycle odd bits of packaging in my art as creating on such a canvas makes me less fearful of perfection. I'm elated I didn't loose the '2nd class' stamped wording and that in tearing open it naturally fell and twisted as shown. Left to right we have paint on canvas, charcoal on exposed corrugated cardboard x2 - the first of which with horizontal riveting and the second which has vertical rivets and that looks totally different throughout the day, as the light from the window stretches across it casting wonderful shadows. The back story to this imagery is drawn out. End of last year I met a family of three. I helped them move their piano inside. I noticed them and their predicament on my way home and stopped to offer help. Thursday I went to order a repeat prescription and left this bag of curious items on their door. The paper bag is one I drew a portrait on. It's contents were some sweets from @theconsciouscandycompany a jigsaw I'd completed, insence sticks, two postcards, a beer (drink) mat I bought at a #dukespecial gig and the book I last finished reading - The Children Act. Today I got a Thank you by email. They'd googled me and found me a remembered me. Then later by whatsapp I recieved a personalised thank you vid of the Son playing his grade 2 tunes for me :D It's started my day beautifully!
