i’m already gone;;
Laurie didn’t know what to do anymore. She was running out of options and it seemed like she had just been spending every one of her days crying, and no one seemed to want to have sex with a pregnant girl anymore. She knew that was no way to live, so she decided she needed a change.
First, she tried to do small, subtler things: get a tattoo, cut all her hair off, things like that. It just wasn’t enough for her. She knew what she needed to do, she just needed to figure out how and when.
She spent weeks planning, packing, and stressing, but at least she didn’t cry once in that time. She felt more in control of her life than she had in months.
One weekend, she acted as if she was just going to Hogsmeade like normal. She cast a shrinking charm on her trunk - dragging all her belongings through Hogsmeade would be a bit suspicious - and stuck it in her purse. She wandered through the streets until she was lost in the crowd, went in search of the brick wall that opened at the tap of a wand, and snuck out.
She had left a note for her roommates to find, and they were the only people she told.
If you’re reading this, I’m already gone. It’s been nice knowing you for the last six years, but I feel it’s time for me to take my leave. You can owl me but I can’t guarantee I’ll reply. I just want to find a way to give my child a life better than what I had, and moping around the castle waiting for things to happen to me isn’t how I’ll achieve that. I wish you all the best of luck, Laurie
