Jo and Mr. Bhaer don’t get into an argument over the sensation stories Jo had been writing. I had forgotten the book only had Mr. Bhaer talking about it impersonally and Jo’s conscience getting stricken all on its own. They don’t even discuss it, hardly. Both the 1994 and 2019 movies would lead you to believe Jo still has her quick temper and that both her and Mr. Bhaer are capable of having a tremendous fight. But. Uh. Not at all. In the book, Jo’s matured magnificently and has learned to keep her temper in check (character development!!) and Jo and Mr. Bhaer are shown to be able to get along without arguing! How fabulous!
