'American Crime Story': Watch the full trailer for 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace'

Edgar Ramirez and Penelope Cruz star in Ryan Murphy series

FX has just released the first in-depth footage from the highly anticipated The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

The second installment of Ryan Murphy’s crime anthology — which previously chronicled the O.J. Simpson murder trial to great commercial and critical success in its 2016 debut season — will tackle the killing of the titular fashion designer (played by Edgar Ramirez) by Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss).

Viewers also get their first chance to fully hear and see Oscar winner Penelope Cruz as Gianni’s sister Donatella.

Versace premieres Jan. 17 at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
