Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.

Owls: were we abducted by an alíen? Did the alien abductor took us to a new burrow? O.o
Overlock Stitch by @clothes_reetzy
Damn, that's useful
Finally a hand sewing tutorial on a hemline that isn't just the ladder stitch! the ladder stitch disappears when you tighten it, but it's not meant for hemlines because it breaks really easily! The overlock stitch is more stable, so it holds much longer, and it won't pucker or warp the fabric!

OH HELL THE FUCK YES
The serger and I are finally understanding each other but I only have access to the one in my classes which are finishing soon so…
So today’s the 3rd anniversary of the G-Witch finale.
To be honest, I’m more inclined to celebrate the first episode’s anniversary but the finale is also good. At first I wasn’t sure what to do with that ending. I think that I was more concerned about what people would think about the ending than about what I thought. That was a problem I grappled with for a long time, because I was putting the show not only against my own expectations but against other Gundam fans’ expectations which was a losing game from the start. Once I rewatched it on a context completely removed from all the Discourse, I was able to appreciate it in my own terms. The show still has things I didn’t like that much among others I absolutely love and it holds a special place in my heart. It may not be the best Gundam but it is my favorite Gundam.
Even after three years, the show still manages to spark discussion (which made me amazed at the people who hate it, to be honest, they could be doing some better things with their time…) but I don’t want to dwell on it. I think that one of the most important messages from G-Witch is that disabled people deserve a happy and fulfilling life. Suletta started off as someone very worried about being considered “useless” and at the end, she’s cherished and taken care of. Most importantly, she’s happy with her life and she’s in a place where she gets to decide and plan her own future. This extends to the rest of her family, who are still alive and well despite their disability. I think that the show could had examined the topic of disability more, but the fact that they decided to explore it at all, when other shows normally don’t, is still very important.
Another thing I liked was that Miorine was able to step out from the cycle of violence in which her father, Prospera and other adults dragged her in. Her solution might had been naive and idealistic and later she even admits that it didn’t 100% work, but she’s the kind of person who will keep trying to learn from her past mistakes and make things better without resorting to violence. A lot of Tomino’s Gundam stories are about how the previous generations keep failing the children and burdening them with the sins of the past. This also happens in G-Witch but the endgame is that children can carve their own future and even teach the adults that they can go to a new direction and start fixing things as well. I think this message is important and valid.
Also, the two girls got married at the end, so that’s a win. (Even if Sunrise/Bandai won’t recognize it until Gundams 90th anniversary if we’re lucky)
Thank you, Witch from Mercury and may all blessings find their way to you.

juri arisugawa is so funny in all her melodramas. they’re in relatively modern era with cellphones and so on but she’s penning emo letters in her nightgown in the faint light in her dark room and has a black and white picture of her beloved in her locket that she dramatically clasps in her hand and she keeps her hair coiled up like that. it’s like Juri catch up shiori is vagueblogging about you on twitter. also here’s her unexpectedly groovy lamp
Juri Is honestly very Joan Crawford in many aspects.
The podcast “you must remember this” mentions on her episode how Crawford actively turned herself into “a lady” or more specifically picked one idea of being a lady and comittef to it.
There Is even quoting a fluff article it was made of her and it was shown how she had an specific desk for writing letters and if my memory doesn’t betray me had a dressing gown for that fact.
Jury strikes me as a person whose family comes from money (I have a further head canon that family line of Arisugawa Takehito wasn’t ended with him, it just lost the aristocrátic title) but she does seem extremely commited to a certain STYLE.
She didn’t pick the regular “Ojou sama” aesthetic, she either went for either old Hollywood glamour or a paralel Japanese style (I don’t know if there is one, but if they are retro rockers, the changes are more than zero)
Joan Crawford also had relationships with women… if it’s a coincidence it’s a funny one
Ignore how crunchy this looks I’ll make a better resolution version maybe or never

Seriously people I keep saying the Utena movie showing up this month is a crisis response. Nature is trying to heal.
