me, having deeply fallen out of the practice of writing poetry: I can’t write any more, I am now a Talentless Hack
the voice of my 11th grade journalism/12th grade creative writing teacher who rly did know everything: if you stop writing for a while the words will build up and stagnate. to clear the water, you will have to open the dam completely, and accept the fact that what initially comes out will not be palatable
This. This is so true. Starting again is more important than what you actually write. You are rusty. You’ll build up momentum again. All you need to do is start.

peace and love on fucking earth
No you won’t ever be exactly the same again and that’s fine, actually.
I’m assuming you’re talking about the ‘died and came back different’ thing?
No, I’m talking about the mundane horror of existing as a human being.
@caffeinewitchcraft ‘s killer line: “Again isn’t human”
I love describing it as “mundane horror” that’s it exactly

Fools who don't know how to look after cats: but I have to let my cat decimate the local wildlife and get flattened by a car or it will be sad uwu
Me:
Funny thing: back when I lived with my parents and our cats were allowed outdoors unsupervised, I could NOT leash-train any of them. They were just not going for it.
However, when I moved out with my cat Larkin, she became an indoor-only cat and after a little while I tried her on a harness and leash... and she never even protested. Suddenly she acted like she'd always been fine with this option and we could go for adorable walks around the cul-de-sac.
After Larkin died (feline leukemia she'd probably caught from her brother when he had it four years earlier but it had stayed dormant in her and tested negative until years later, which is apparently a thing that can happen), I adopted Grimalkin, and then a year later, I brought home a stray and named him Cecil.
I honestly thought that Larkin had been a special case with the leash training because she and I had such a close bond. Really, she was the most loyal, trusting, gentle little cat I've ever known.
But I was wrong about that being the reason why she took so easily to harness and leash, because...
Grim and Cec both took to it almost just as easily.
TL:DR: In 100% of my experience, cats will leash train easy IF they know that it's the only way they get to go outside.
My nearly 18 year old cat took to harness training like she was born to it. Started last summer, and she was meowing and chirping and was absolutely thrilled. We have to hide the harness and leash or she'll drag them around in her mouth while yelling. That was after just one trip to the backyard. She's easier to train than the dog I grew up with!
theres also catios, and there are fence toppers that prevent cats from escaping your backyard.
letting cats free roam the neighborhood is neglect.
