Molly knows an olive branch when he sees one. The worst part of him, the pettiest, most spiteful side of him, wants to take it in his hands and snap it in half. The better side of him, tells him how simple it would be to just let this act drop. Close the distance between them & move on from this dance. Simple, yet impossible, because dammit if Ulrich hadn’t started this whole thing in the first place, the stupid, arrogant, git.

It’s a bend, not a break, and right now that’s the best compromise that he can make. Just a little bit closer to the cliff’s edge. Always toeing, never stepping.

It is, however, common for complaints to be directed his way as opposed to the creative team, given Molly’s role in parting patrons from their coin. He places an hand on the Terrible Tinkerer’s shoulder and grins a placating smile. ❝  Well, our audiences unfortunately tend to be — less astute than yourself, so we do what we can to make our points clear. And nothing gets a crowd going like a bit of growling, as I’m sure you saw. ❞ Molly shrugs in feigned sympathy.

Her smile isn’t as off-putting as he initially found it, now that the shock of the teeth have worn off. There’s a wildness to it, for sure, but its also… sweet, in a way. He places a hand on her hood, ruffling the goblin’s hair through the worn fabric.  ❝ You know they say size doesn’t matter, ❞ he replies with a wink.

The two of them have rather opposite philosophies on first impressions: Nott makes every effort to conceal her nature, while Molly prefers to not waste his time on anyone who has a problem with his ancestry. But it isn’t Nott’s appearance that makes him keep a closer eye on her than normal.  ❝ I’ll admit the mask is a little disconcerting, but I was more talkin’ about what you did with that manticore baby. ❞
