Tbh I wasn’t sure if I’d be back, I didn’t mean to just vanish but without getting overly detailed or emotional abt it. I basically had to take some time and figure out what I wanted and get my life on the right path.

To the talented roleplayers I’ve threaded with before- I’m going to reply to everything I have and if anything has been dropped (Chara or plot) just let me know. Oh! If anyone has any new characters bring em this way.

Irresponsible {{1977}}-Open

“Late night wander, huh? Really should give you detention.” She drawled on, her face expressionless; almost bored. She’d been a prefect years now, she knew the drill and usually she took great pleasure in the authority it gave her but as she lounged against the window just down from the Great Hall, she was more looking for something to amuse her and if this person provided that, perhaps they’d avoid the fate rule breakers were suppose to have.

“Exactly!, if anything they should appreciate us more, we’re merely preparing them for the strain of the pro games!,” she agreed with an exasperated sigh. She doubted many would go onto play the sport professionally though, not because they weren’t good- some of them were actually quite talented but they weren’t realistic on how harsh it was.

Lucindas pace had slowed to the point she was nearly stopped as she glanced over her shoulder. Seeing no sign of her folks she calmed a little but wouldn’t truly be relaxed until she was sheltered in the cover of the maze. “I’m offended!” Her hand flew over her heart before laughing, “We’ve gardeners, they’d find you.. Eventually.” She teased she strolled past him, raising her wand to illuminate a single fairy light in the hedge, rather quickly and much like a runway; lines of fairy lights began lighting up to show their way.

He pretended to hit the air in exclamation, “Yes! That’s exactly my point,” He laughed. “They should appreciate us more because we don’t baby them. I mean, I know it’s just for school, but this is prep for pro for whoever decides to go pro.” He shrugged. 

“Oh don’t be so dramatic,” He grinned, and then laughed at her joke about the gardeners finding him. “Hopefully I wouldn’t be completely hopeless. I mean, I’m fairly bright.” He looked down the row and his eyes widened as he saw the path light up.

Her excitement was building the more they shared their views over Quidditch, it’d always been a passion of hers afterall. “Imagine if we were all soft with them, they’d get a bludger to the head in ten minute flat in pro games. They’d wish we’d been realistic then.” She shrugged, it’d take a miracle for the other teams to see it from their perspective.

“Can’t help it, it’s in my blood.” She joked, although she was sure he’d witnessed her mothers mini meltdown over the croquembouche leaning a millimetre to the left. "Funnily enough, that's what the last guy said." She teased devilishly. "I enchanted them myself after I got lost, my brother found me hours later." She shrugged, although somewhat proud of her work. There were a few nights she'd stumble into the maze and spend hours trying to get it right.

Fame & victory {{1984}}-open

Lucindas ears echoed with the excited screams of fans and as far as she could see photos, tickets, t-shirts were pushed in their direction to sign. "Of course.. Aww thank you, that's too sweet." She mused, posing with fans for pictures. "Sure you can," she agreed with a beaming smile as she signed photo after photo without really looking up, determined to autograph enough as quickly as possible not to leave anyone disheartened. She could've sworn she heard her name but it was drown out in many different chants.

This was a side of Lucinda rarely anyone saw, grinning and carefree as she continued with her belly rubs. She didn’t dare stop, even if her wrist was getting tired and a little sore from earlier because this puppy was far too adorable. Perhaps she’d get a dog? She’d never really given it much thought since her parents died. It’d been drilled into her not to even hope that they’d change their minds but now she was free to make her own decisions.

“Hazel huh? Yeah I can see that.. You’re absolutely stunning Hazel.” She mused as she ruffled her fur. She glanced over at Marlene with an arched brow. “Always thought you were more of a cat person.”

“I’m okay, finally a Harpie. It’s exhausting though.” She reasoned, for obvious reasons she couldn’t mention her struggles because they surrounded her mothers death at her own hands. “You? I umm.. Heard what happened.” She cautiously asked, she’d read the articles and her brother was a Death Eater; not that he was directly involved but he kept her in the loop. “I’d apologise for how I was, particularly after the Quidditch finals but we both know I’d choke on it.” She offered with a lighthearted smile.

Potions disaster {{1974}} - open

“Thank Salazar for that.“ She sighed in false relief, wiping an imaginary bead of sweat from her brow as she laughed. "Exiled to the cold, loneliness of the common room. Destined to spend the next four years sleeping on the couch.” She declared dramatically. “I simply couldn’t allow that to happen so as much as it’ll pain me, l’ll keep your secret.” She nudged her with a proud grin. “Distracting is my talent, how did you think I got away with being useless at potions until now?” She straightened up slightly, if Ellie was kind enough to help her she’d give her full attention. She popped a Newt eyeball from the jar, grabbing a knife to mirror her actions. “Okay.. See I’ve used larger eyes but these, never. Angie usually does it for me so I don’t squirt the juice everywhere.” She pressed her blade down, probably too harshly as it launched forward. Lucinda was no seeker but her reflexes were quick enough to catch it as she frowned.

“Oh yes! International Quidditch players in the making!” She exclaimed with little modesty and a bright yet somewhat joking grin. “That.. And they believe we’re dirty cheats who’ll put them in hospital.” She bluntly blurted out with an easy shrug. It was mostly over exaggeration, a mix of fear and prejudice. Every team had players who pushed the rules to the limit but somehow Slytherin got the brunt of the accusations.

Lucinda wasn’t exactly a quiet person, always things to say, remarks to be made and gossip to share but this was more awkward, nervous energy. She hasn’t been very subtle with the fact that she wished the ground would've swallowed her back there but now her nerves were more directly towards wether he'd ask questions about it. "Totally.. Been in the mazes hundreds of times." She deliberately replied as unconvincing and skeptically as possible before laughing. "Don't worry, know it like the back of a broom."

Operation repopulate AU {{1983}}-open

Lucinda had always wanted to be a Quidditch player, ever since she was little. It was as if the first time she picked up her bat it felt right. She was extremely determined, nothing would stop her pursuing her dream. She was one of the lucky ones, her hard work played off and a year after graduating she had achieved international fame. That all changed that Halloween night when Voldemort successfully murdered the Potters, his followers grew in numbers and it wasn’t long before he gained true power over Britain. The ministry fell and others were inspired to up-rise and suppress the ruling powers in their own countries. Muggle hunting became legal and those who were lucky enough evacuated. As the years went on the population of wizards dropped substantially, Purebloods were encouraged to marry and have children. 

That’s exactly what Lucinda did, she despised the idea of it but it was frowned upon not to help her people in such fragile times. It was quickly arranged based on their blood status, reputation and age. She remembered vividly arguing two nights before their wedding, screaming and flinging things. She worried the only thing they’d ever agree on was that neither wanted this. As time went on things calmed down, a routine of sorts developed. Lu would go off on her matches, she’d actually smile a little to herself whenever he traveled to see her although he’d reason it was business in the area. Two years in and perhaps married life wasn’t as awful as she always imagined, it was pathetic really when she found her heart aching a little to get home whenever they were apart too long.

This time was different, she’d arrived home and not rushed back out the door weeks later. She was hiding something, lying and deceiving came naturally to her but time wasn’t on her side and eventually there wouldn’t be any way to distort the truth. Breakfast was always an easy, carefree way to begin their day. Lu would usually just drape her charmeuse robe over her nightie, they’d chat and joke lightly as the elves served the food but this particular day she was silent, only for a distasteful groan as she slide back in her seat when the smell of coffee evoked the air. 

“Perhaps just orange juice this morning, get rid of that. Please..now.” She urged, her tone stern but insistent, her hand subtly covering her mouth and nose.

“Subs pretty useless too though, I don’t think we’ve anything to fear.” She laughed before grinning. “She claims she didn’t mean to.. I don’t believe her really, they’ve no chemistry. He really gets under her skin.”

“Good thing I’m no lady, huh? Guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree.” She nodded playfully. “Great!” He’d hardly answered before she’d straightened up and was gearing to disappear from the patio and more importantly, any view from the window. “Sure, though that doesn’t sound that bad.” She shrugged, although part of her truly meant it. She smiled gratefully over at him as she descended the stairs into their never ending garden; trying desperately to mask how eager she was to get away from her parents.

Celebrations | 1978 | open

Gwen was having too much fun. The taste of sweet victory was still in her mouth, although mixed now with a hint of fire whiskey. Normally she didn’t condone drinking during the season. Her diet was strict and only consisted of vegan approved meals. However, her teammates had put a drink in her hand and there was no looking back. She was a glass and a half in, feeling good, and having a great time watching her fellow Harpies dance in questionable ways. She wasn’t even sure if some of their moves should be considered dancing, but that only made her laugh a little more. She knew she should have stepped in and saved them the embarrassment… but that was no fun.

As Gwenog Jones took another sip of her drink, she felt a set of eyes on her and looked to her side, smiling slightly in greeting before looking back at her friends, “I know I should probably step in, but it’s just too funny.” She nodded with her head towards the tipsy ladies, celebrating another win. “Plus, it’s always nice to have something to hold over their heads the next time one of them wants to skip practice. Y’know what I mean?”

Lucinda didn't exactly live the party girl life that some believed she did, sure she enjoyed celebrating with everyone else when the occasion arose but otherwise her school breaks consisted of shopping, spending time with her friends; particularly Alecto, packing as much time with her fiancé as she could between her limited holidays and his work schedule. For now it was a quiet drink in what she had expected to be a fairly deserted bar, Merlin she was wrong. She was two sips in before she noticed one of her future teammates pass by and sure enough she soon joined the rest but the usually confident Lu was too doubtful to intrude. She'd subbed a few games, joined in the occasional practice, even received a formal acceptance to the team beginning the autumn after her graduation; yet she was in the presence of her idols. Of course they wouldn't remember her.

She tried to stifle her laughter behind a cough as she watched the more than questionable dancing, she was fairly distracted and hadn't noticed Gwenog next to her until she spoke. "Step in and they'll drag you into that mess." She chuckled as she nodded towards three of them swaying. "Blackmail material, huh? L'll keep that in mind." She teased before grinning. "Lucinda Talklot, new beater. Not sure if you remember me?" She quizzed cautiously.

Without a leash | 1980 | OPEN

It had been a tough year, full of events and changes. It had taken a long time for her to get back on her feet, an entire year to be more precisely. An entire year and a dog. She had been transfered from the Ministry back to the Academy not long ago and now she was in charge of most part of the physical training for the new recruits, so naturally, she had to be in shape for that.

It was one of those days where she had stayed at her flat in London. Ever since her kidnap, Marlene had been sleeping most of the time back at the McKinnon manor, but right now, she was getting out of her flat with her dog hazel trailing behind her. “Alright, let’s go” she mumbled as the smoke came out of her mouth. It was freezing and Christmas was just around the corner.

Marlene started jogging towards the park near her house as her dog ran alongside her. She did three laps around the park and finally stopped by a bench to stretch out. She liked going out for a run every now and then, it helped to clear out her mind and to think things.

Right now her mind was on Christmas presents, but she quickly snapped out of it as Hazel barked once and sprinted away.

“HAZEL!” She groaned and ran towards the dog. It wasn’t normal for her to leave her side, so she panicked for a moment until she saw her getting some belly rubs. Marlene couldn’t help but to roll her eyes. Of course she would do that.

“Hazel come on, you are not supposed to do that” she groaned as she stopped on her tracks. “I am so sorry, I hope she’s not bothering you” she said, pushing her hair away from her face without really looking at the person.

Lucinda was physically and mentally exhausted, she loved her job. Of course she did but sometimes she felt like hiding. Her match had been extremely intense which ended with her being subbed out after swinging her bat a moment too late and harshly receiving a quaffle to the wrist. Luckily it was fractured not broken but it did mean she couldn’t complete the game, it was partly cured by the most disgustingly vile drink she’d ever tasted; followed by an interview in which they picked and torn apart her life. The only thing keeping her going was seeing Reg later and knowing that this time next year they’d be married. She couldn’t head straight home though, if she did she’d break down and worry Reginald over nothing. So she decided on the long way home, get some air and take a breather.

She’d been somewhat out of it as she strolled along, her mind swirling about Christmas, her wedding, Quidditch, her brother, trying for Reg and Jack to get along but knowing there would always be animosity there that she couldn’t fix. It wasn’t until she stepped over some twigs and they snapped until her weight, that she came back to reality. That a flash of fur bolting towards her. Lucinda dropped to her knees, shoving her bag of dirty quidditch gear aside as she pet the dog, grinning as she rolled over to rub her belly. “Hi gorgeous! Who’s a good girl? Yes you are.” She cooed.

She’d always wanted a dog, ever since she was little but her parents swore it’d never happen. Not even when Jackson asked, it was the one thing he wasn’t allowed. “Not at all, what’s her name?” She asked softly before pealing her eyes away from the beautiful pet long enough to glance up. “Mck-.. Marlene.” She mumbled, they weren’t exactly close at Hogwarts but being with Reg had softened her approach to people aka she saved her hatred for those who truly got on her bad side. Not to mention she’d heard what happened, of course she had; who hadn’t?.

1978 | grieving daughter | OPEN

Alecto may be wearing nothing but black, she may look like she was devastated, but on the inside, she was glowing with happiness and relief. Her father was dead, she had killed him herself and the press was talking about a terrible murder caused by common thieves who just wanted money.

As she sipped her glass of wine, she ran her hand through her hair. The bar wasn’t too crowded and someone had taken a seat next to her and started talking about her father.

“Yeah… a real tragedy” she said absentmindedly.

Lucinda couldn’t truthfully say she felt distraught or sympathetic towards the Carrows at all when news broke of Alfred being murdered, everyone was whispering about how awful it was, those poor kids but Lu was thinking more along the line of party poppers and wine. She personally knew the relief that followed having an abusive personality removed from your life and she imagined Alecto would rather send those thieves a present than get revenge.

She had decided on a drink or two after a hectic day, she didn’t notice Alecto at first glance but only when she got closer and heard the condolences from the stranger beside her. 

Lu stopped beside the pair, clearing her throat only caused the older lady to shift her seat forward as if to give Lucinda more room to pass but she didn’t move, only crossing her arms. “I’m sure Alecto has heard enough of that for today, the poor girl probably needs time to get her head around it without being harassed.”  She suggested before tilting her head towards the door. The elder of the pair gasped but left, mumbling about rude youths and Lu took her seat. “Hi ‘Lecto, drowning in grief yet?” She quizzed only loud enough for the duo to hear.
