Pre-eminent H-Pop geniuses, Hype Williams, deliver the crackish satisfaction of 'One Nation', their third album proper and first for the hugely exciting Hippos in Tanks label - home to Laurel Halo, Games, SLEEP ∞ OVER, Grimes, D'eon, Autre Ne Veut and others. With the same fugged-up blend of sly insouciance and deceptively naive production that made 'Find Out What Happens...' so vital, Denna Francis and Roy D. Blunt have assembled a sublime followup which makes so much else out there seem over-earnest and over-dressed. From the warped VHS signature of 'Ital' inwards, their surreal grasp of possessed, private synth music and deliberately economical production is delivered with innate confidence and the blackest humour. Whether it's the hilariously frank self-help samples and new age tones of the first 'Untitled' or the poor chap chatting about Peregrines who is so abruptly cut off in the second 'Untitled (And Your Batty's So Round)' to what sounds like a "chillout" version of track 3 from Pita's 'Get Out', the juxtapositions are knowingly acute and unforced. It's partly that aspect, the fluid transfer of concise but free wandering thought processes into sound, and their consolidation of free psyche methods with a bass-soaked UK flavour, that makes their music so interesting while keeping their semi-conscious illusion so intact and enigmatic. Also, by eschewing glossy production they've cut straight to the essence, or the truth of the matter, and this is a mighty, mighty beautiful thing. Inside 'One Nation' you'll find some potential future favourites like the gobsmacking post-House condensation of 'Mitsubishi', the Juicy Fruit tang of 'William, Shotgun Sprayer', the brittle but gloopy slowfast vibe of 'Warlord' and the heart-melting R&B cover 'Your Girl Smells Chung When She Wears Dior', all heard through their inimitably cracked veneer. What Hype Williams hold back is equal to what they put in and this sense of considered restraint makes for a listening experience pretty much unlike anything out there. And ultimately, beyond the haze of mystery, 'One Nation' is a moving, romantic, almost melancholy listening experience, and one we just cannot stop playing. Beyond essential.

A tantalising taste of what’s to come, ‘Unter | Über’ is a rather microscopic affair and yet a record that perfectly captures the last days of summer before winter sets in. The under two-minute song twins must be one of the shortest singles released this year. Recorded on Nils’ own piano in his Berlin studio flat, these are two of the most personal and optimistic pieces of music we have heard in a long time. Entwined impeccably these are tracks you can listen to over and over again. ‘Unter’ received a remix by Dutch experimental music maverick Rudger Zuyderveldt aka Machinefabriek. The A-Side also inspired German filmmaker Ralph Etter to take his camera with him out on a field and shoot a stunningly simplistic video of barley flowing in the wind. Both, the remix and this entrancing piece of cinematography will accompany ‘Unter’ and ‘Über’ on their digital release.

PIGEON_kick scooter by ignasurvila People nowadays are in a hurry in all aspects of their life, they are so eager to grow up, to earn money and to live, thus forgetting about the present days. I believe you may convert your hurrying into a delightful and pleasant process, and a kick scooter here may be a tool, helping to achieve this goal. This was the reason for me to create a kick scooter. Even though a large variety of kick scooters exist today and the creation of one more kick scooter was a big challenge, new unforeseen results have been achieved. A lot of kick scooters are manufactured according to one model, which, however, has not been made to perfection as to be a convenient and aesthetically attractive product. Upon consideration from a new aspect the possibilities of a kick scooter, my task was to improve a model scooter eliminating some shortcomings, to brainstorm the whole consumer and servicing system, to arouse a new interest of consumers in a kick scooter as a mode of leisure and lifestyle, and to make it more consumer-friendly and not complicated in use. “Pigeon” may be folded by one-time pushing with a foot, after folding it is compact, of streamlined forms, thus making it comfortable in use. After rejecting the unnecessary details, the general construction of the product became lighter. My present ambition is for the people throughout the world to change their approach to things that seem unchangeable and to turn hurrying into a pleasant and useful process. I believe commuting from Point A to Point B may be turned into a delightful travel.

Inspiration Pad by marctm Inspiration Pad. An inspiring notepad I launched a few years ago. I was drawing projects in a notebook, and suddenly it hit me how a classic notebook, however beautiful, is always very rigid and grid like, so I wanted to turn the conventional upside down with curved, angles and twisted lines in order to create one which could inspire people to unleash their own creativity. Available on our shop. Pictures by Marcel Veelo.

t-shirt printing by vonfreter T-Shirt printing using traditional rubber stamps is a process that I innovated a few years ago for my current employer. The concept was a huge success and is used for large events. It's amazing to see the variation you get from print to print.
Hoi Bo by blokdesign Hoi Bo, a highly coveted line of bags and clothing, possesses a distinctive aesthetic that arises from the designer’s unique way of working. What guides her design is a true exploration of process and an emphasis on materials. In some cases, she will fold one piece several times to create a form. Our own design followed her path. We began by using the different shapes and forms as the identity’s foundation. We then pushed the extent of the printing technique to give it a true personality, while also mirroring Hoi Bo’s rigorous attention to craftsmanship and detail.
