The Lindy Hop is an energetic, improvisational jazz dance that originated in Harlem, New York City in the late 1920s. It's considered the original swing dance, and is known for its fast rotations, high-energy footwork, and acrobatic "air steps". The dance is based on the "swing out," a move where partners swing around each other in a counterbalanced motion.
Ring shouts are a powerful, ancestral ritual rooted in African and African-American traditions. Originating from West and Central Africa, they were practiced by enslaved people in the United States and the Caribbean, blending African dance and spirituals with Christian hymns. The ritual involves a counterclockwise circle of participants who sing, clap, and stomp their feet, creating a rhythmic and ecstatic experience
