Koala zine
Another zine idea
Pine Rivers Koala Crossing
A sense of immediacy as a few have been killed there recently, at the moment there are signs that indicate drivers go 40KM from 70KM (Gympie Rd near Pine Rivers High).
I was thinking an MTV Cribs intro but have since chosen a day in the life may be more appropriate. I would be writing it from the child's perspective. Will post photo of layout.
I think a collage would be easiest rather than drawing everything out, can be quite difficult.
Task 1
A poster for Lady Shaka, queer femme Polynesian DJ.
Inspired by the 'All Women Dance' poster, Poster for an all women’s dance held by the women of the Gay Liberation Front | c. 1970
Utilising the Design Thinking bootleg and the Double Diamond. Design Thinking bootleg: empathise, define, ideate, prototype and test.
The Double Diamond: discover, define, develop and deliver.
I've chosen an Event Poster for Task 1.
I wanted to create these posters because she is proud of her heritage and I wanted to show that off. In previous posters, she has already done so but I wanted to make it outright to the audiences that saw the posters.
I just found something great https://www.instagram.com/p/CrQ-NwkNCWJ/?img_index=1 - a Boiler Room article about Lady Shaka on re-indigenising club culture.
An article from Dazed, 'How can mainstream club culture become more inclusive?' https://www.dazeddigital.com/music/article/29163/1/how-can-mainstream-club-culture-become-more-inclusive

Questions
What did I DO in class?
What did I find most interesting?
What specifically is interesting to me about it?
Describe the part of class that is most relevant to my life or studies.
What question or questions do I want to ask now about something in the session? How might I find the answer?
What topic am I going to follow up on in some way and how will I do it?
I worked a tiny bit on my poster and tried to figure out how the Design Methods apply.
The Design Thinking Bootleg!
It's speaks more to me than the Double Diamond method.
The artist performing is relevant to me, I like them and they're a Pacific Islander and so I feel as though I should do their poster justice.
I don't know at the moment. I may come back with some during the week.
The Design Thinking Bootleg and how it will apply to me poster but remembering that there is no singular method to completing assignment 1.
In saying that, do I want to do a poster still? Or do a fun, lil zine on my like of coffee/coffee mug.
Poster for an all women’s dance held by the women of the Gay Liberation Front | c. 1970
stunning!
Stitching event details onto one of these
ANOTHER ONE (idea) for assignment 1
A poster for Lady Shaka, a queer Afro Pacifica DJ. https://ra.co/dj/ladyshaka
I want one of her jumpers and want to incorporate it into a poster, I forgot to mention, yes a poster I would like to do for her.
I love how she uses an ili, makes me happy. It's so nice to see more Samoan faces in media today.

Lady Shaka 'land Back' (Org) Sweatshirt , Classic fit, unisex - In celebration of Lady Shaka's debut Boiler...
Another idea for assignment 1
I don't want to make it too political as that's where I fall down, instead I want to do something fun which is going to be hard for me.
I want to do a poster/zine/something around coffee or mugs like what makes the perfect mug, the perfect temperature for coffee, what you can drink and why they are specific to mugs or glassware.
For an example of a mug design https://maxbrenner.com.au/product/hug-mug-for-hot-chocolate-drinking-2/
The Max Brenner huggable mug. I haven't used one of these in years but I do wonder if it's any good as all I can see is drink spilling from where you drink from when putting the mug down.
A great mug I know of is from my partner's mums collection.
I'll have to draw it and upload.
I think I don't know what Assignment 1 is also so maybe grab some clarification on that.
Task 1 ideas
Music festival poster i.e The Weeknd his show somewhere in Montreal, had all the important info for event.
ZINE - What does it mean to be woman?
Barbie, born to suffer, punishable crime to be a woman, womanhood, cat fight, men eager for women to fight, fetishising, upset, can't cry too emotional, don't cry something's wrong with you (too political?)
A word from the author - do magazines have that? I'm sure they do. It's usually on the first or so page, a small column with their thoughts.
Event poster - like Frank Ocean's library ticket when, where, what, how much, who, simple has people wanting more.
Will post The Weeknd's poster and Frank Ocean's ticky.
Everything is political.
My attempt at Attempt at exhausting a place in Paris
I get the novelty of the Bee movie but I really do not at the same time. I remember there was a brief moment people related it to American Psycho, why? I can hear a number of things, sneakers hitting tile, a soft pad. The hand dryer being obscenely loud though my choice of poor seating. Two people chatting before going into class, I don't want to misinform/misappropriate/I'm not sure the word but assume gender. They sounded like women but does it mean to sound like a women? I can hear the soft rumbling of a truck, a person going 'bleh' I imagine them sticking their tongue out and making a funny face to get a rise out of someone. I still cannot believe, and if it's true, that someone wrote the Bee Movie script like why? All I can imagine is Jerry Seinfeld, bee version, doing stand up in a dimly lit NY bar going, 'What's the deal with the hand dryer's?' Why hand dryer's? Because they're ridiculously loud, unnecessary. The truck is still rumbling and a class murmuring but somehow still so silent, feet go back and forth on the tile, some fast some slow. Some lost and some filling their water bottle.
Module 1
I listened and it was good, I enjoyed it.
I found most interesting the journaling task.
I love writing like that. Stream of thought and no real ending, or beginning for that matter, just thought.
Am I a conceptual designer? Is this what I call myself? I want to write, unsure what but it has to do with my life (I like it) and I study it (semi study).
Questions:
How are we showing our audience? Is it just the class? Or those in our day to day life? Or both?
Topic follow up:
Module 1 and 2 need to be looked at BEFORE tutorial, oops.
