Losing his focus, James simply made an approving sound while his mind traveled elsewhere briefly to the diner’s window to peer at what was on the outside. “Mhm, yeah, sure,” he mumbled barely above audible, looking at the waitress but not exactly meeting her eyes, clearly distracted. Left alone, the young lad pulled out his phone from his hoodie pocket, checking out his weather updates before glancing out from the closed off world of the diner again, seeing as the crazy mess of rain was slowly coming to a stop. “Thanks,” he muttered, flashing an appreciative smile to the tired waitress while bringing the plate of his order closer towards him. It took a minute to understand she was speaking directly to him, oddly, since she was sitting right across from him. “James — The name’s James,” his gaze meeting up with hers after speaking. “It’s nice to meet you, I suppose?” he said, almost questioning the statement himself before taking the cheeseburger in his hands, taking a bite.
