I suppose a few fans have always wondered what the connection was between Jonghyun and Kibum, at least from questions arising as of late. Was it platonic? Romantic? In between?
Personally, I think defining types of love is difficult. Granted there’s many forms of love, but on a full, emotion level, sometimes there just can’t be a definition and it’s just unnecessary.
In my opinion, what Jonghyun and Kibum had — and still do — was pure adoration and love from one spirit to another. Regardless of how that love was displayed or interpreted, it was spiritual and pure in a way that was just so beautiful. I think Jonghyun was capable of loving wholeheartedly without any form of dilimination or restraint, which he did, but Kibum was special.
Soulmates doesn’t have to have a romantic to it. Soulmates goes beyond emotions — it’s two souls choosing to connect and link together for all eternity, regardless of any physical barrier. That’s what they had, truly.
It’s what they still have, and eternally will.
