Unmasked 2012 Turtles

This is kind of my take, Look at them ☝️ maybe I'll try to color them if I feel like it later

refs, as in their canon maskless looks, and more of my toughts under the crop

also Leo and Mikey have like the same eyecolor in these for some reason

More of my thoughts on this: I really like that the 2012 turtles have those more almond shaped eyes. I think the one who inspired me the most to actually draw it was Donnie who has like those kind of eye bags, that I really liked and though it would be nice to draw. Plus, you can't really see their eyelids when they have their masks on, so thinking about the looks we had in the series I just tried to imagine the different eyeshapes they could have.

Leo looks like he has monolids, while donnie has double eyelids, and both have some little eyebags. While mikey is just round all around. And I just freestyled raph as we didn't have a closer look into his maskless face, so I decided to make it similar to mikey's, but sharper and with a marked epicanthal fold.

I think they look nice and it was fun to draw and I just found out that I really like this brush so it was wins all around

Isn't it a particular flavor of sad that, Because Casey jr went to the past and changed everything for the greater good, the turtles will never grow become the turtles that he once knew and loved.

Like he will never see them ever again, they are as dead as they never existed because the timeline was nigh completely erased, and even though they technically ARE them I think that to Casey jr it must look like he is stuck with these slightly off versions of his loved ones that are so different while being just the same enough to kind of make him feel a little weird for grieving his family, because while they are gone at the same time they are just in the other room watching TV.

This is a really interesting thought. Maybe Casey jr don't even realize that until some time has passed, because he was thrown in the past and had to lock in to go against the kraang immediately, and now they won, but he still lost everything, they just saved the world and it's still bittersweet to him. I think it would be nice for him to have a moment to like find himself in this new world that is nothing like anything he has ever known, with these people that are his family but not yet (?). Stay strong Casey jr I hope someone introduces you to therapy.

I always see the 2003 turtles being depicted as taller than their counterparts but they are really short little guys in the first season so I assume they will grow over time?

I once read a fanfiction where Raph and Mikey's chat nicknames were Stab Wound and Blunt Force Trauma, respectively.

And I absolutely loved that concept so I want to suggest similar names for Leo and Donnie that I came up with: Sharp Force Injury and Intramuscular Contusion.
