the thing about torchwood is that for about 2-3 episodes in the second series it was like what if you were a kind of shitty guy and you acted like you didn't care about anyone and just used them for sex and then you died, like died died and suddenly you lost the only things you used to enjoy, food and drink and sex, and now you're a broken shell of a human being wandering the earth with nothing left to numb the pain and you're so used to embodying the asshole that you lash out even at the one person who loves you unconditionally and all the while you're rotting?

twelvemissy drives me fucking crazy because for the first time since delgado!master they were really friends. after so long. and in every episode you can see how careful they are with each other. so so hesitant as missy tries so hard to prove herself and twelve just can't let his guard down yet but wants her around so badly. needs her around so badly. and the doctor falls....what better (or more painful) end for this storyline could there be than missy choosing the doctor and dying for it and the doctor living the rest of his life thinking she betrayed him

sorry. sorry. i am still living in the 'the first face thirteen saw after regenerating was graham's' world that i constructed earlier, and in this world where thirteen is having a weird flirtation/doomed from the start lovers/we're just friends or found family we swear dynamic with graham after getting his wife killed, it would just make this entire scene so much funnier:

JAKE: I was supposed to come out and see him launch. Say goodbye as he went off to the ISS. GRAHAM: And you didn't go. JAKE: He knew what he was taking on with me. I don't do emotions. And I'm really not good at sticking with things, you know? Commitment. Also, I really don't like foreign travel. GRAHAM: Wow. So you were quite the catch, then. JAKE: Yeah, he's a lucky, lucky bloke. My husband is an astronaut. Do you have any idea how hard it is being married to somebody that impressive? It sort of sends me the other way. I wallow in being unreliable. Like I'm punishing him.

This is our brand new science fiction adventure character, he's a scientist and an old man. He's in a TV show called Doctor Who. He's credited as Dr Who. All production documents call him Dr Who. All promotional material calls him Dr Who. The novel adaptations call him Dr Who. The movie adaptations call him Dr Who. The original tie-in fiction calls him Dr Who. And week one of his TV show he's going to meet a guy who's like "What's your name? What do we call you?" and our hero is going to be like "hohoho hehehe you dumb motherfucker. Never talk to me again." And then he's never ever going to give anyone his goddamn name.
