ngl i’m just gonna unfollow anybody who reblogs that “Elliot Page gets better roles from Nolan now that he’s a man” post. at some point y’all are gonna have to understand that it isn’t like subversive or funny that Christopher Nolan respects men more than women and the fact that Page has been getting better roles since he came out should be a smoking gun about male privilege
it’s just “trans inclusive misogyny” all over again. If you think about it for more than a second, the entire joke revolves around how 1. funny and surprising it is that somebody would take a trans person’s gender at face value and 2. that misogyny is hilarious if it benefits trans men specifically.
