Gosh that illustration took forever 😵 god forbid I take my sanity for granted after missing hours of sleep night after night... It was very fun, definitely gonna try doing polygonal type art in the future, it's so fun and stylish ! Gotta chill with the amount of layers... Everything feels kind of all over the place...
Also, just fun to see these two bicker and fight hehe, I'd love to just animate them fighting in an epic showdown with my 3d models or smth, it makes me very giddy imagining it pffff

After playing chapter 5 wr and seeing the new dialogue I came up with this. Gaster has been nothing more than a passive voice and only guiding us when necessary.
Eram seems to be more active by stealing the mantle and showing the player the weird route where we get stronger. Not to mention Eram owns a pack of friends to hunt down Kris. If Eram is suppose to bring chaos it would make sense why they chose to toy around with the crystal holders. To show them they have no choices and that nothing matters in the end. It's going to be all the same so its better to get to the ending quicker.
The game of Deltarune is actually just a survey itself for Gaster to see what players do and how they act. After all toby did say that the ending is not important. Meaning your actions and experiences are the important thing here. That's why Gaster has been playing a more passive role during the normal route. He only intervenes when needed like with the knight and how he admires your determination to keep fighting.
What happened to Spamton on the day he was kicked out
spoilers for chapter 5 weird route
Spamton on that day where everything went wrong actually went out of bounds. He went to nowhere.
For context in weird route ch 5 we seemingly end up glitching out of bounds similar to Mother 1 with the bread crumb glitch. We might be ending up in nowhere since it seems to match the same area in mother 1 for the out of bounds glitch.
Our first clue that something abnormal happened to Spamton was we hear this line of dialogue from the blue addison.
* The day he was to be evicted from the Queen's mansion,
* I went to his room to check on him...
* But he wasn't there.
* There was only a phone hanging off the handle.
* He must've left in the middle of a conversation,
* Because I could still hear someone on the other end...
* ...
* But when I put the receiver to my ear...
* There was nothing but garbage noise.
This makes no sense because Spamton already made the phone call in TV world. Then ran out presumingly to his room in Queen's mansion finding out he was being evicted. Then ran to his room to pick up the phone yet again begging for help from his benefactor.
It's able to block off the room in the basement in chapter 2 forcing you to meet its face. Then reopens the door. This is when you go to retrieve the disk for Spamton. In chapter 4, Friend appears in the third sanctuary in a room out of bounds. Spamton must have been cut off by Mike, Friend from the world. Perhaps in fear Spamton tried to escape this room to not face his benefactor and ended up out of bounds. After all, how else would Spamton be able to leave a room with no door? Or perhaps the benefactor led him out of bounds since Spamton wanted to break the rules of the game so badly. The rules involve him going against the contract and telling Tenna his secret to success and possibly warning Tenna about his death. Or perhaps another rule. Trying to not be an addison or trying to not be Spamton.
A noelle is a Noelle, a kris is a kris, An addison is an addison
Noelle in ch 5 in weird route says, "They don't see how interesting you are now!" "You actually changed!"
He was able to go to nowhere twice. Once during his bigshot era and then a second time when he turned into a puppet. Spamton saw Nowhere and it led him to spiral into insanity. A place impossible to explain to anyone. A place that no one would believe in.
Then Spamton tells us "AMAZED BY THIS TRANSFORMATION?"
He figured out to no longer be an addison or Spamton, but no one noticed. That he figured out how to change out from going down the same path as everyone else. No one noticed he was no longer going down the same path as everyone else.
It's similar to Noelle's dialogue in weird route, "They'll just keep marching down the same path, without even thinking where it goes!"
He started to pray to the machine before he became a puppet. Started to pray to that heaven he once saw. He wanted to fly to heaven again. To be even more free than before.
"HERE I GO!!!!
WATCH ME FLY,
[MAMA]!!!!"
Now going back to chapter 5's weird route. There's a theory that where Kris and Noelle actually ended up was Nowhere. As in, the place where Mancountry is located.
The effects of nowhere and aborting the route
Since the Flying Ace associates the grey area in the binoculars with evil immediately and says they're trying to "see as far as they can" but it "doesn't look too good." Plus there's unique dialogue for telling Gerson you're headed "nowhere" in the weird route, and the lake scene I think uses the same fade to white and static that's used when you leave Mancountry in Chapter 3.
Also the bibliox says it's a "bad idea" to "go nowhere with someone else."
The bread that Sans gives you is a direct reference to the mother 1 breadcrumbs glitch too which is what the grey area in the binoculars.
The proximity to Nowhere is also what is causing the weird route "abort" to work the way it is, where seemingly Kris and Noelle forget what happened up to a certain point, since that's exactly what happens with the Forgotten Man every time you see him.

Now we never found out what Spamton meant by IT. Though if Spamton was taken to Nowhere with... his benefactor (someone else) then perhaps he saw something he wasn't supposed to. It might have been what affected his very code. Or at least he saw something and was punished for going to Nowhere. However, I think when he was leaving or kicked out he began to forget. Similar to how the weird route abort works. That's what the IT is. He lost parts of his own memory that led to him constantly trying to remember while living in the dumpster. He found out a way to break free of the prophecy he once knew, but he was kicked out. This might have screwed up his entire existence in the game.
Strange oddities and memories
Though now at his current state I don't think he can exactly go to nowhere anymore. I think with his scrambled memories it's why he becomes so wishy washy at times and being completely out of it. Examples: Him saying he knows the knight and then in the qna he seemingly doesn't know. Him saying he's best friends with Noelle then begging Kris to use the thorn ring on her. Him berating Noelle and Kris being together after telling Kris to do the Snowgrave route and being upset if you abort it. Him being upset you are going to close the fountain and not being focused on your soul. Spamton not being aware someone is talking through him.
Another strange oddity is in snowgrave Spamton warns us about going to achieve freedom and tells us how we will end up crying in a broken home wishing Spamton killed us. This is odd considering he was encouraging us and he gets upset if you abort the route. Almost seemingly as if he knows what is going to happen to Kris in the end.
In queen's mansion a swatchling will stand in front of Kris' door and say " Spamton? This used to be his room... Though it's not like he used it, after a while. Eventually, he just spent all his time in the basement... praying." However another swatchling will stand in front of Jockington's door and say, "Your room? It belonged to a prestigious big shot... Sadly, his name has been erased from the records..." This is before the spamton neo fight. The curious thing is why would the swatchling suddenly remember who Spamton is if they are referring to him? As if he was added back into the game. Added back into the records.
Spamton partially achieved freedom by breaking free of his role of just being an npc. Now Spamton was everything, a shopkeeper, an npc, a boss battle, a healer, an attacker, armor, someone important but not. He was able to talk to something beyond the dark, he was able to "escape" deltarune, but ended up still somehow in a similar spot again. Still Spamton wasn't satisfied and still wanted true freedom that was beyond it all.
In chapter 5, Noelle had now lost her mind and was willing to do anything crazy to be anyone that isn't Noelle. Spamton had lost his mind and was willing to do anything crazy to be anyone that wasn't Spamton. To be free truly free from the game itself. To finally choose who they get to be. (and for spamton without any strings attached.)
I think when we get to play the rest of B side we will finally learn the rest of what happened to Spamton.

This allows us to exploit the game even more by forcing Noelle to stay in our party. This exploit also lets us speedrun through the chapter skipping important cutscenes and bosses. But then Sneo serves as a way to test how far will we go to cheat our way through the game. It’s like how some games detect you are cheating and let you play, but throw harder bosses your way. That’s why Sneo is even harder than before.
How do we know we are cheating?:
In chapter 3 it seems as if this chapter’s secrets tell us how to exploit the game to find secrets. The zapper for the egg room asks if we are a cheater. We must say yes to go to nowhere. This is our hint to the exploit. But why does the egg room matter to us if its deemed as an issue to gaster?weird route doesn’t seem like an issue. Well that’s because these rooms are actually bugs to gaster. It’s like you are clipping your way out of the game to get a special item. This is possible in any route except chapter 2 for when snowgrave starts. Perhaps its because your exploits fix the bug in the dark world area. After all the rest of the events take place outside the dark worlds allowing you to see that bug again.
Gaster’s experiment:
In spyro if you pirate the game will let you play, but there’s a catch. It becomes harder and it tries to do everything to turn you away. Persona 3 will guilt trip you by having your navigators say they are disappointed in you. Other games will ruin your stats or do some weird action to your character. Now what if weird route is another experiment for Gaster. He wants to see how far we will go with our cheats even when characters around us are upset by it. Its why weird route feels horrible. Its suppose to turn us away. To go back to playing it properly. Though we have a choice to keep going.
Chapter 5 and Side B:
So if we are doing something “wrong” why does no one do anything? Its because the characters are only characters in the game. The concept of exploits or cheats are something beyond them. Only the player is aware of that. However, with how characters can notice the ui (the buttons) I think certain characters can concentrate to the point they start to notice something is off with their environment. Almost as if they aren’t in a real place. That’s what I think Noelle means by we’ve changed. She’s becoming more aware due to our cheats. After all it’s very interesting toby pointed out she’s super into video game glitches. And yet she’s important to performing them to get weird route.
So about the end of weird route. We spam a button in a similar manner if you were spamming a jump or action to noclip out of a game. Another thing is the bread crumb glitch is mentioned. Sans hands us a piece of bread where its said to crumble. Another reference is made to bread crumbs if you hand Asgore the honey toast which is only in the code. For the bread crumb glitch to work we must have Pippi in our party and then go up against a tree blocking the path and use up our bread crumbs. We see if we fail the exploit we lose the bread. Then not to mention we can’t see Noelle until we get the bread. Its odd that Sans a character who’s been known to be aware of the player’s antics in another game is giving us an item to further exploit the game.
So what’s skipping to Ch 7 Side B about? When we pulled off the bread crumb glitch we actually pulled off a speedrun trick. That’s why we skipped chapter 6. This is due to the bread crumb glitch in Mother 1 being a speedrun tactic to fast travel. Now we know that in Mancountry we see there’s a place far off that seems like a gray area. “Talk about crappy estate! I sense nothing but evil from that place!”
In the mother 1 bread crumb glitch there’s similar homes and trees in the void area. So side B will be exactly hometown, but that monochrome place called nowhere. There’s going to be something different though. Though with how toby referenced how you get Pippi in Mother 1 with the cemetery response email it makes me wonder if something will be there in chapter 7 side B.
How do we know Gaster might be the creator?:
A big thing is that the trademark of UTDR is not under Toby Fox. Its under the company name called Royal Sciences LLC. The same name used in Undertale. Not to mention the tweets when undertale came out was written by Gaster. Now Gaster writes when a new chapter comes out. Another odd thing is the shelter code. It says 09/15/199X. 09/15/2015 is when Undertale came out. That 199X date is when Deltarune was made by Gaster.
Small guess work of when 199X was:
The year is 1997. Thats the missing year. Not only Spamton mentions this year, but other characters in cybercity. You might say well maybe its because Queen is a laptop made in that year. But the thing is some of the cybercitizens say, “This application is only
supported by OS 2000”
Then the screen in the acid tunnel of love is from a computer made in the 2000s. So clearly Queen is not a 1990s computer.
I have had this running around in my mind for a bit ever since the mention of the bread crumb glitch. I really can’t wait to see what happens next chapter. I’d really appreciate any comments about this.

What if that’s how Dess disappeared? The day at the forest Dess and Asriel did the same glitch and just disappeared. But some how when Asriel came back Dess didn’t. Dess ended up in the code as just memories.
We use up Noelle and have to fight friend enemies and Eram by ourself at the end of the final secret board for Mantle.
