DESSIE MAY NOT BE very forthcoming , more times than not , in terms of emotion and caring for others . but , she does care about kylo . he's her master , she would do anything for him . and , he has to maintain a facade of strength for so many people that he never has anyone to care for him . so , she's decided to set aside her pride and do just that .
SHE FEELS WHAT HE’S feeling . she's just better at acting like it doesn't effect her . she silently yet defiantly sits herself down next to him , making it quite obvious that she's not about to go anywhere . a part of her wants to double over in pain , from the agony that she's feeling in the force . but , she instead just subtly twitches and looks to him with furrowed brows .
❛ I FEEL IT , TOO , you know … ❜ desaevio confides quietly , voice scarcely above a whisper . her gaze becomes less far away and much more direct when her own bright blue eyes make contact with those of russet brown , ❛ i'm staying and there's nothing you can do or say to stop me . ❜ perhaps the little girl she once was , jsenia , is still alive after all .
“Have we intercepted any recent communications meant for the rebels?” Its not something he wants to consider, and not something he wants to imagine. His mother had told him about the loss she felt during Alderaan, and it was something he had experienced with the loss of the Hosnian System. This time, it was magnified but contained in the same measure. “Kriff, has the Rebellion sent any communication in the past few days?” It isn’t a thread he should tug, one that Kylo Ren should never consider.
This isn’t for Kylo Ren, though. Ben Solo wants to do one thing for himself — one thing in a sea of other things that he’s had to do for others for most of his life. He scrubs his hands down his face and really looks at her, trying to fight the toss and turn of his stomach. He’d try for some portions in a few moments, or get something from the mess hall when he wasn’t feeling like a bantha had taken up residence in his stomach. He shakily gets to his feet, gripping the nearest stable structure for support.
Dimly, through a connection that he hadn’t reached for or felt in years, he sensed Chewbacca’s low cry. It was a cry of agony, a cry of immense pain. A cry known on Kashyyyk as one of mourning. Through the barriers he maintained, he could almost feel the perverse joy from the others around him and Snoke’s stood out among them before he slammed up the barriers protecting his mind.
“She’s gone.” He’s an orphan — maybe one of his own making.
@akasupergirl sent Kara smiled, "I was wondering if you'd like to have dinner with me Ben? I know it's been a rough few weeks I made a picnic dinner and I thought we could ride out a bit and watch the rhino herds. I thought maybe you'd like to see some of the animals of our world."
He’d been absently messing with the newest (and last) bandage on his arm. Shuri swore it was the last time she’d draw his blood, claiming it was for research purposes. He wasn’t quite worried about them trying to recreate the Force, but the idea of other people having something close to lightsabers was a little concerning. They were rather civilized, but having seen the other weapons in the world, he knew it would also have an unfortunate downside. He remembered hearing stories during the Jedi-Mando wars, when the Mandalorians switched weaponry that the Jedi couldn’t deflect.
Ben perks up at the question and gives a nod, smiling at Kara as he adjusts his thoughts. “I would love that. We have similar lumbering herds, but they’re called banthas. Banthas are a little more stout, but they’re covered in fur and have horns.” He’s not going to mention the fact he had a stuffed bantha when he was younger, although he knows his mother has it framed somewhere.

“[Name], you’re bleeding.”
“How long has it been like that?”
“Did you dislocate a finger?”
“You’re slurring.”
“They say you almost died. You left it that late.”
“You’re snapping. Headache again?”
“You’re in a bad mood. Are you in pain?”
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Hey, why are you walking like that?”
“That’s a lot of swelling.”
“Where did you get that bruise?”
“Whose blood is that?”
“When you say your pain’s ‘4 out of 10′, that’s a normal person’s ‘8 out of 10′. We’re going to the hospital.”
“How did you not notice?!”
“If it hurts, it hurts.”
“I know you can manage it, you just don’t *have* to.”
“Holy shit, how long have you had this?!”
“[Name]? [Name]! Hey!”
“We’re a team. You need to tell me about this sort of thing.”
“That’s … a lot of blood, is that - oh, fuck.”
“Hey! Hey! Stay awake, okay? Stay awake.”
“It would have been a lot easier to treat if you’d mentioned it sooner.”
“You can’t keep hiding this stuff.”
“I need to be able to trust you to tell me when you’re hurt.”
@fatestricken sent “I needed you and you just left me there”
They’re in a cantina, and he’s been trying to let his guard down. The mission they’d been on had gone so wrong so quickly, but he supposed things had gone wrong from the moment they stepped off the transport. Any venture to Mandalore had always seemed to spell trouble, and he knew he couldn’t really garner any goodwill from any of the Mandalorians. He had thought it was the fact he was Han Solo’s son, at least at first, but then he remembered the incident at the academy. In his minor defense, he tried to get the Mandalorian’s youngling to safety before everything happened. Yet, when that assignment for the Knights of Ren collapsed, it turned into a situation where they had to save themselves.
“You lived, though, did you not?” He doesn’t mean to be short, but the bacta patch is doing little to help the pain radiating from the shot he took. “You made it in one piece, and you can join us in a drink while we wait for the transport.” A transport that will be half-filled with Stormtroopers, and an arrangement that forced him to train with Phasma and her troops for over a week. It was fine, though. It saves him from having to deal with Snoke and risk more... corrective actions.
@fatestricken sent “you’re right, i don’t have to, but I’m going to.”
“You’d disobey my orders to provide me comfort?” He hadn’t expected any remote comfort from Desaevio, but he hadn’t really gotten any comfort in the past. The last time he received any comfort was when he was younger, right before his parents got a little too busy to tend to him themselves. Kylo was showing too much emotion, even though he hadn’t tried to do anything to feel such a deep loss.
It was something that echoed through the Force. It echoed through the Force with enough power to make his stomach turn, causing immense pain in his chest. It reminded him of the moment he killed his father, but it was a deeper loss. It was one that impacted so many people, reverberating through the Force with power he hadn’t imagined.
There’s pain, and it almost brings Ben Solo to the surface. He balls his hand into a fist and strikes his upper thigh, a choking sob escaping before he shakes his head. “You don’t have to stay here, Des. There’s... something’s happened. The galaxy is in pain.” He’s in pain, but its not something that’s giving him power. Its an emotional pain, and something he can’t use to his advantage.
@fatestricken sent “For someone who doesn’t like to feel things, you sure feel a lot of it out loud.” / desaevio !
Brown eyes flick to the other and he makes a small noise before shaking his head. Different thoughts and feelings tumble through his head, the Force doing its best to magnify everything that wants to settle in his brain. Since Snoke’s demise, he had more freedom in his mind, but it also came with the downside of a deeper Force connection. He could really do without the ghostly specter of his grandfather lurking in the corner of his vision, a perpetual expression of disappointment making him feel worse and worse with each passing moment.
“You never realize how many people are left in the galaxy until you can feel their pain.” He’s felt enough pain for his lifetime, but he knows that there’s something else to be said about feeling more than that. “Just because I don’t like to feel things, it doesn’t mean I don’t have emotions.”
akasupergirl:
“That’s very sweet, to be called sky people here and actually have the ser name Skywalker.” She sighed, “I was royalty as well. My mother was third in line for control of a planet called Candor. It was the planet that circled the one I was from, Krypton. When Krypton was destroyed so was Candor. it seems to me, Ben, that you and have have quite a few things in common.
As his hand focused on the crystal that he was holding, Kara’s eyes widened. She didn’t know of where that crystal came from exactly but it was the same crystals that made Krypton. It wasn’t hard to miss them because of the power that they released and she was just happy that this one wasn’t giving off the cosmic radiation that the parts of her planet that came with her to Earth now gave. Kara decided that she’d keep the information about his crystal to herself for now, maybe when she was better and could show him the fortress, it might be easier to explain.
She nodded her head at him explaining what was going on. “My people, before they were destroyed, traveled extensively into other galaxies and it’s strange that you should say that. A few galaxies from my home, my uncle said had a darkness, not physical but psychically that was spreading slowly. It makes me wonder if that could be the same place and if so, you’ are a very very long way from home. This is almost the other side of the universe.”
When he said that he had family here and then said it was James, her heart sank. “I’m sorry, Ben. He was taken in the snap right along with ½ of all the universe. I’m sure Steve and Natasha are trying to figure out how to get everyone back.” She pushed up again. “I really should start getting around so that I can go home and start to help them. Do you plan on staying here when I go back? This isn’t really where your cousin is from. We’re a long ways from our actual home in Brooklyn. He was here recovering from the terrible things that happened to him.”
He wouldn’t mind leaving, but he didn’t want to have it seen as taking advantage of hospitality. He was an intruder there, and they had little reason to try and make him comfortable, but they had and that was utterly more than he could have anticipated. “No, I can’t leave yet.” Ben’s hand travels again to the kyber crystal he’s wearing. “The young woman in the lab has my... she has my lifeline. I managed to keep it intact during the crash landing.” He had crashed his uncle’s prized X-Wing and felt more than a little upset, but the happiness that he was alive kind of outweighed it a little bit.
Psychic darkness? His brow furrows and he takes his hand from the crystal before pushing it through his hair. “There was this monster that haunted my dreams. He kept trying to get me to join him. He promised me so many things, promised that he’d understand me. Luke sent me here so I would be safe and away from the danger I might have been in. Might? He’s not sure there would have been a might. I’m a Skywalker. I’m a magnet for danger. He isn’t quite sure if its something he should have pride in. His stomach does a little flip. “I knew I was far from home, but that’s impressive. Kind of makes you wonder how big everything is, right?”
Ben shifts a little then, rubbing his arm over his sleeve. He finds some comfort in the material of the clothing, and his mind wanders to some of the gowns he had seen his grandmother wearing. They went to Naboo a few times and he had lost himself in time, staring at his grandmother and wondering how they managed to look so alike. It made him wonder why he wasn’t allowed to become a senator, but he had found that it was boring when he was younger. He was a child, and that was part of his disinterest.
He manages a small laugh. “I figured this isn’t where he mainly lived. The navigation was locked onto his last signature, and it had led us here.” Heat crawls up his cheeks a little and settles there before he gives a small nod. “If you’re willing to wait, I would love to see where you guys live.”

He’d been allowed to roam, and that was something that he enjoyed. He kept looking at the clothes he had been given, ones he were told to wear. Somehow they’d traced his blood (the technology was beyond the holo-pads he managed to hide from his uncle), finding the royal bloodlines hidden in almost plain sight. “Royalty should dress as such,” the stern-looking woman had said. She reminded him of his grandmother and his mother in a way that made his stomach turn. Even dressed in some measure of finery, he still felt unclothed. The silver-wrapped crystal that hung from his neck reminded him of the current state of his lightsaber. He understood it, in a way, but having no weapon was weird.
The words jolt him from his musings and he manages a small laugh. “No, you’re fine. I thought they’d have given a heads up. You’re Kara, right? I was directed to you with…pretty much no explanation.”
Kara had a small smile on her face as she directed the young man to the chair next to her bed. “You’re Ben, Ben Solo right? I was told M’Baku that you’d be coming in at some point. He said that he’d make sure you weren’t too loud and that you knew not to stay long and I told him he needed to be kind.” She chuckled before wincing. “I’m sure he wasn’t, they’re afraid of sky people as they call them now. That’s what you are, correct. You’re a child of another galaxy?”
She pushed herself up on the bed, feeling the weight of her body and the strain on her muscles but waived away the nurse who came to help her. “They’d be scared of me too if I’d came after what we’ve just been through but my people had legends with the Wakandan’s from before well… their very ancient legends speak of my people and I’ve been kinda made an honary ambassador for all peaceful aliens.” Kara sighed, “so tell me, what brings you from your galaxy. I do hope it isn’t like my story and my world was completely destroyed.”
Sky people? He gives a small chuckle. "My uncle's last name is Skywalker, so that's appropriate." How far away from his family was he? He had lost count after the tenth jump point, and he ended up losing a few hours after that as well. "Child of another galaxy, and heir to a dead planet," Ben says with a shrug. "I couldn't rule, anyway. Alderaan had always had a queen and it worked out well for them."
Cautiously, he enters the room fully and sits down in one of the chairs. He reached up to the chain that holds his crystal and taps it. The young woman who'd taken his lightsaber called it primitive, at least in construction, and promised to make it better. He wasn't sure what was meant by that, but he'd not had anyone handle it with that much care before. "No, nothing like that. There's a darkness building in my galaxy, and my uncle sent me away to keep me safe. I came here to find Jace...sorry, to find James." He looks down, giving a shake of his head. "Something tells me he's not here." He senses it. He sensed it, and the loss of the other life-forms, but the loss of his cousin sat uneasy in his chest.

It wasn’t the same and she had no idea what to think about everything after she’d come out of the coma. It was the first time that she’d found out what magic could do to her and it was worse than Kryptonite. She’d been told it had been a month but to her, her mind couldn’t move forward past the moment she’d blocked Wanda from the blast, crawling to Steve’s side before she woke up, right where she was now. She hadn’t gotten her powers back, and she still suffered from nightmares of watching Steve be hit, she was sure he’d died but time was reversed. In her mind, she was still in that moment.
Just as she was about to roll over and try to go back to sleep, Kara heard someone standing by the door, a small knock to let her know they were there. She smiled, trying to push herself up but failed and slid right back down. “Hi, I didn’t know you were gonna come by today. Give me a minute and I’ll try to get up.”
He'd been allowed to roam, and that was something that he enjoyed. He kept looking at the clothes he had been given, ones he were told to wear. v; escaping snoke: woken up in the middle of the night, ben is escorted to luke's x-wing. concerned about the dark presence descending across the galaxy, luke tells ben about rebecca and james. he hasn't heard of his cousins before, but he can't be too mad at his uncle because ben understands the risk. before he can ask any questions, he's in the x-wing with the autopilot set for a destination. the path puts him through hyperspace lanes and jump points that make him sick, but he ends up crash landing in a forest. he emerges from the wreckage and senses loss. not only the loss of his family on the planet, but a crushing loss of half the life forms. people rush up to him, some speaking a language he doesn't understand, and he asks what happened to james and rebecca. he doesn't get an answer, not before he faints.
@dickmedead
War.
It was on the horizon. Ben could almost taste the blood in the air as he slid the whetstone along his sword. Not his sword, not truly, but a family sword that has belonged to his grandfather. Knightsire, it was named. The stories were that the blade was crafted in the fire of a dragon's breath. He wasn't sure how much he believed it, but he was certain there was a small truth to it. The whelping dragon near him growled, the sound low, and he looks up before scrambling to his feet.
"My Queen..." he trails off, keeping his head lowered as he tried to think of what to say. The small lessons from his mother wafted through his mind like smoke.
He raises his head and puts his sword back, giving a small smile. "I trust the coronation had no...issues." It was a sham, and he knew as much, but did elect to not voice those thoughts. He never had much sense, and he supposed his father was to blame, but he knew better than to cross a woman or a dragon.
like for a starter in ben's game of thrones verse.
@ofhalfyear sent ❝ are you hurt? did they hurt you? ❞
Arm shaking, Ben shifts his hold on the egg. He knows he's gotten stabbed, the sword having gone through the small gap in his armor, and can feel the blood as it drips down his chest underneath his armor. He gives a nod as he puts his sword back in it's sheath. He knows the egg needs warmth, even while he can almost feel it burning through the hardy leather of the padding on his bracers. "Yes, but it will heal." Ben shakes his head, getting his hair away from his eyes before he goes back to examining the egg. His mind calms a little as he can feel the barest movement in the heart of the egg. "Clutch from a dragon thought lost." He approaches Rhaenyra and lowers his head, passing her the dragon egg.
"Have you come to persuade me to make an appearance at court, my lady?" By all means, he knows that he should be at court, trying to extend the reach of the Skywalker blood, but he doesn't like the people. "I prefer dragons over people. I'd even take getting an egg from an occupied nest over having to go to court." It's duty, though. His mother had to do it, as well as her mother before her.
